I have ADD and sometimes find it difficult to concentrate at work and I was wondering if there was any type of hypnotic music in CD or MP3 that I can have playing while I work....something that would help my concentrate. I don't know if anything like this exists, but if it doesn't, patent pending, patent pending, patent pending!

Normal music distracts me further. I sometimes put headphones on because it helps to block out distractions (I am a writer) , but I am looking for something to supplement this.

Try whatever music you like. My sons Psych doc told us to try music and if that distracted him not to use it. He said some people do well with the music in the background to help them stay on track and for some people it doesn't work. You have to try it out for yourself and see if that works for you or not.

Here are some suggestions from the ADHD & ADD site

The following suggestions will help you concentrate and reducemany sources of distraction. This will help you focus on and succeed at the task at hand.

........find a quiet place in the office to work on any assignment .............that requires a lot of concentration.

--Move around to reduce restlessness, for example, walk to visit a co-worker instead of calling them. On your breaks, be sure to exercise – take a walk or go outside for a few minutes.

--Request tasks that you find interesting. Typically, when you are interested in what you are doing, your sense of distraction and lack of motivation is reduced.

--Something as simple as repositioning your chair or desk so that you cannot see the door or entrance to your work space is very helpful, as you are less likely to be distracted by people passing by, or activity outside your immediate workspace.

--Set short-term goals. This will make you be more productive and will be a signal to your supervisors that you are motivated.
