after splitting up with a girl of 5 years, is it normal to feel good? i was having so many trust and emotional problems with her. finally she hinted to me she was cheating. basically, she disguised it as saying her friend did the cheating in the relationship with her boyfriend. i knew this was a cover up.

so i ended it, and i feel much better already. it's like i always will care but just instantly all the stress and worries lifted immediately. after 5 years though! is this normal?

sounds like to me that you did suspect this and that is why the weight has been lifted. five years is a long time to be with someone but better you find out now and not when your married.

im glad that you can move on.

uhh this is basically my same story. (without the cheating, but many other issues) I felt so much better when I split up with my girl of 5 years and was instantly ready to go out and find a better. people told me i should wait and "heal" but I honestly was ready to get back on the "horse". I think its because the relationship was so bad that I broke up with her in my head long before i actually did it. I still care too but feeling better is ok.

its normal to feel relievd as you were going through emotional trauma and dat makes your heart feels right - deep inside your heart you knew it was over long time ago but you still continued on hope.- and my friends hope itslef is a disease- you will always care for her casue you trully loved her but you wont be taken granted for anymore . . dont worry and enjoying being by yourself ...

Oh yeah. It shows how much you needed that split. You were probably miserable!

Kudos to you for being able to do it.
