Go and see your Periodontist, they specialize in the health of your gums. If need be they can graft on some gum tissue taken from the roof of your mouth to save your tooth or to improve the cosmetic appearance. Receeding gums can be from periodontal disease or simply from over brushing with a stiff bristled brush.

It is very important that you go to the dentist. I have the same problem and as I get older, it happens more often. This area of the tooth decays more rapidly than others. Many times fillings are needed in the lower area. This also can lead to periodontal disease whish is very serious. It is also very important to brush more often than before. There is nothing that can be done at home, unfortunately.

sounds like a receding gum...happens with age and disease. Any bleeding? any sensitivity/pain? I would recommend seeing a dentist soon (and flossing!)
