Why... well, because:
- we're immature
- this is how we bond when we're immature
- it is meant to show other men that we are virile (also immature)
- it indicates a love/lust of women and tells others that we're
not gay (still a maturity issue)
- this is often how we show appreciation for an attractive woman
(yep, I know this is not mature either)
- it reflects that we're one of the boys (or men) to the others, so
count us in on the manly stuff (not mature either)
- this is cultural, it's not done in every culture, so we both buy into
it and perpetuate it
- we falsely believe (or wish) that women appreciate this
Anyway, the reasons are endless and few escape the immaturity label. Like women, we have numerous stupid things we do as a species, and this is just one of them.

You poor thing. I have met a few egocentric people who think that everything that happens in the world is a result of something they did. You take the cake however. Clearly where ever you go snickering men are a result of your presence! Wow.. you must have an amazing perfume or is it just your electric personality?

Because they're not men; they're still silly little boys. Hand 'em a recruiting brochure from the US Marines and suggest that's a good way to start growing up!
