love/cherish/care/spend time with the people that you hold dear the most, support a family/provide basic needs to survive with a job (preferrably that you enjoy doing), have fun each day with the things you enjoy doing (sports, activities, restaurants, etc.)...

so, do you REALLY NEED to worship, serve, pray to, devote your life, revolving around a religion of an almighty, imaginary, made up thing??

you need to do that??

call me crazy.....but i don't. i can live a good life without that.

It's wonderful that you have a good life. It would be not good but great, if you believed in God. Nevertheless, you have a God, whether or not you want Him.

I agree with you although I am sure a lot of people will disagree. I grew up Catholic because that is what my family worshiped, as I got older and more educated I started to see things I disliked in not only my religion but others as well. I realize that some people, not all, need to have some faith in someone or something to be able to go on in life. Like anything else in this world, a human being needs to feel like he belongs somewhere and when he dies, he wants to feel as if he has another place to go to. No one wants to think that you die and that's it, that is the end...But the reality is that when we die, it ends for us, period!
Until someone, somewhere shows me proof positive evidence that God exists than I would have to say, that I am speculative. If there was a God, why would there be so much suffering and death and destruction? Children dying of diseases and starving all over the world, is that the merciful God everyone speaks about?

Most would say that God works in thier life, but this is not true. God works within THEM.

God is a part of all of us, as we are a part of God.

Your friends, your family, that love that you feel for them, its that thing working within you. It helps you grow. Those emotions, those people. That is God. God is Life and existance.

When lies and deception work within you, you become more and more broken down. That is not God within you.

Once you understand what God really is, you will understand that you do need him - and God needs you.

I hope this helps.

Best of wishes,
Jesse

in my life, i have never been religious but have had faith. no, you do not NEED to have a god to worship, pray to, serve, devote your life to, etc., but it's nice to have the thought that you always do have someone protecting you and watching over you.

i am still not religious and my faith has been questioned many times, but it has also been rebuilt especially lately. believing in a higher power can help give you strength and hope. i don't "devote my life" and i don't really "worship," but i do pray and i am thankful.

and it's ok if you don't believe and don't do any of things you mentioned. most people who do believe are going to judge the crap out of you, but if they were true believers they wouldn't, because they would believe that their god created you and in turn gave you the power of free will.

worship actually benefits humans more than God. Worship is blessing God despite your circumstances. Worship is a faith and relationship builder, as well as a lift of morale sometimes. such a bad thing?

serving God can come in many ways, such as striving for excellence to reflect God, or simply giving out of God's goodness.
what's wrong with having the fruit of the Spirit? (love/joy/peace/patience/self-control/gentleness/goodness/faithfulness/kindness)?

prayer is what allows God to enter our world. don't dimiss me as a heretic, because as humans, we have free will, and God doesn't mess with that. So if we don't choose to let God intervene (we have to clear sin first), it's our world, our problems.

devoting your life to God brings you pleasure. You got the Ultimate Power to back you up, you can live without ruining your life, and you can express yourself openly before Him. so wrong?

and philisophically, is serving God such a wicked act?

you can do both ; if you have a good life and do the things that you say then in your actions you are worshiping God whether you realize it or not; b/c he is asking what you are already doing; many people go to church and say worship , some fanatically but the basic truth is you live a good life; do unto others as you would want done to you; if you want to kick it up a notch, just give a simple thanks to God who has instilled in you the greatest concepts , that you get it; that you do it; it isn't hard to just thanks!! for making you , you.

People need something to believe in, because life to them will seem empty, without meaning if they don't have faith.
For God, I believe people need to believe in God just to get them from day to day, it is their stress-release from the pressures of life.

I live a good life without being any of the major religions, and don't believe in the "one true god' principle, but even I have faith that their is somehting out there, which is why I believe in the Mother Gaia

OK. I accept the deal with you. If you are able to conduct good life till your death I will believe it. When in trouble please do not came to call and ask why he have left you, why you are doing this to me, etc....
It is childish to say that god exists but it is the very same to say that he does not exist. The fact is simple. WE REALLY DO NOT KNOW! We are all caught up in concepts.

The far majority of the worlds population believes in a God or gods or something so I think that speaks for itself as to whether we really need a God.

well first is first i really think ur crazy =) no offencee .. we need God to explain the unexplainable world that he created.. i would like to ask u a qustion! how do u think this world all happened? by itself? how is that possible? if u hv no faith in god than in wat do u belive and hv faith in? god is here and he is always here and he exists u may not see him but he is always with u and u can feel him.. i sure do feel him when i pray to him or when i talk to him.. he is always there listenomg to me and to everyone who needs him...! someone asked why is there so much pain, suffering, poverty, or sickness like cancer or someother sort that kills and so on? well i will try to answer that qustion! if there was not sickness there will be no doctors.. if there was no poverty there wont be any wealth, if there was no pain then thats not earth that we live in its hevean! u hv to always think that this planet we live in doesnt belong to god even tho he created it... its an evil planet satan owns it..thats why there is sickness, pain, poverty.. this life is all a test from god if we belive in him or not and if we dont than satan is inside u makin u qustion ur belifs in GOD!

god created us to test our belief on him...how we cope up with these thigns happening around us
