I am wondering where everyone who said yes as an answer got their info from? I would like to know why and how eggs could possibly be a dairy product.
No. Eggs are not a dairy product.
A dairy product is anything containing dairy - AKA: Anything made from Milk.

They're not a dairy product as dairy products are derivatives of milk.
If you're considering being vegan though you wouldn't eat eggs as they've come from an animal.
I'm currently making the transition from veggie to vegan :)

Dairy products are milk, cream, butter, cheese and yoghurt. Online supermarkets tend to put eggs with the dairy category, along with margarine, usually as dairy, milk and eggs.

Dairy products come from mammals. They are milk products. Have you ever heard of a cow laying an egg? Or a hen suckling it's chicks? The answer's no, but vegetarians and vegans probably won't eat them.

no!
most things that come from animals (ie. not the actual animal but that the animals produce, cheese/milk for eg) are classed as dairy, but not normally stuff from chickens (more bovine animals, goats, sheep, cows etc).
