This place is a place to chat and to learn. Everyone who comes on here is wanting to find answers to problems. They have different beliefs and understandings. Why then do people bash religion? I have seen questions bashing atheists, Islam, Christians and people find these very offensive - what example are we setting to kids?
I say do not bash any religion unless you know what you are talking about - via unbiased media intervention. Come on - most of you are taking a one sided look at it. Lets go and ask what the cricket crowd who sit calmly and enjoy cricket what they think of football supporters jumping booing etc etc etc. See my point

If there was no disagreement on this forum it would die in 15 minutes. If you do not enjoy it no-one is forcing you to come here.

Oh and worse, much worse, is preached in Churches and Mosques every single week of the year.

EDIT:

And stop being so melodramatic, 99% of the posts here have nothing to do with hatred, they are just either one liners or genuine disagreements.

Phae as constantly exciting questions... The Roman Catholic Church is the only actual faith and all others are the two fake or misled. i'm becoming a niche so as that folk can thumb me down or up from basically the assertion above. I mentioned that when i grew to become into sixteen whilst i grew to become right into a pupil in London between Orthodox Christians, Muslims, and Agnostics. We have been on the three rd floor of the pupil dorm. i grew to become into just about thrown out the window that nighttime. I in no way mentioned that provided that then. For I vowed in no thank you to think of in those words. presently i'm Buddhist, and that i make it a habit in no thank you to declare something like, MY Buddhism is greater valuable than others. there is not any such difficulty. so which you may answer your question, I define S & R tolerance as with the flexibility to settle for different religions as what they are. i attempt to prepare tolerance on a daily basis yet I nonetheless have self belief in what I do. even with the actuality that i do no longer say or think of that our faith is greater suitable to others what I do amazing now works for me. it is the very essence of 'concept' isn't it? I see it this style, each and each religious entity (enterprise) could look after a particular shape and a particular border. they are like products of a jigsaw puzzle. There are borders that have compatibility especially into yet another. the finished puzzle constitutes the photograph. that's what's clever. At that factor we see the photograph and that we are ALL ONE. thank you for a large Q!!!!!

Mm hmm.. Yes. This is a place to chat. Of sorts. But it's more like a debate than a conversation I think. And because of that people tend to simplify and polarise their views.

People do get a bit carried away when they talk about things dear to them. And some people are offensive. But that doesn't mean they want kids to read their comments. This is after all a forum for adults.

Have you never watched TV coverage of parliament? Been to Speaker's Corner? But do you honestly think the people there who badger, snipe and belittle are poor parents? Do you think they behave like that at home? See my point?

What you do not take into account is that not all people are mature enough to be accepting of others. Some just want to cause others pain. Some think that if they make their point often enough, loud enough, or with enough insults that others will finally see their 'truth'. Some are here to gain support for their own views.

Although I agree with you, in part, I would say don't 'bash' anyone else's belief. Answer honestly, candidly, but with tact and thoughtfulness.

Thank you for being one on here that uses this forum as it was meant.

Good for you, there needs out spoken people like you to say what needs to be said about such hate.Love is Gods way and the only way to approach any responce.Hate does send a powerful negative message and hurts others unnecessarily. This site is to help others grow ,not to tear down and humiliate

I agree with you ...although I'm not sure what you mean by "via unbiased media intervention" that doesn't make any sense to me.

But I've seen a lot of people also post really offensive questions not meant to learn but meant to upset those who believe. That should stop as well.

I agree to a point. Religion is, in my opinion, mankind's perception of the greater whole; we all have slightly different perspectives, and it is just a shame that these fundamental differences breed intolerance when they should be great opportunities to learn and explore.

I agree, but there is a thing called freedom of speach and there's nothing we can do but not listen. I hate when people bash my religion. But there are 2 sides to everything. I believe in what I believe in and comments against that won't change my belief. They have a right to their opinion as do we.

If you went to a Catholic school, was abused by nuns and betrayed by a priest or worse molested by one you would not be tolerant of that religion. Religious abuse tends to make people bash the religion that has abused them. Thumbs down? Cowards!
My mistake may the priests go on to molest the innocent.

Well sister you are criticizing people as they are criticizing religion. Do you not believe that you and them are pretty the same. It might defer on haw far one goes but at the base there is same pride or filing to be something more than others.
You should be in the pans of such persons to be able to judge them correctly.
Just tell them what you believe, know, feel, .... without any filing of superiority.
I am the worse, if you can look deeply in to my self.
