A very good question.Try this simple, safe, NATURAL treatment and you will get healthy, vibrant hair that will grow long. It's been voted Best Answer(see Profile). My hair is healthier, stronger, faster growing than when was a teenager. I found that the main cause of my hair and scalp problems was harsh chemicals and ingredients in commercial shampoos, and other products & washing hair too frequently - it denatures and damages.(Do Google searches - "daily hair washing harmful?" & "shampoos harm hair?" to see many sites warning about both). Combined effect is dry, sometimes flaking scalp, and clogged scalp hair ducts, limp, poor quality hair and inhibited normal growth. Just stopping over washing allowed hair and scalp to start to naturally heal. Use only a mild tea tree oil shampoo or selenium based shampoo - acts as an anti-fungal agent - with a few drops of tea tree oil added and wash less frequently. To restore scalp to health you need to frequently brush, 25 to 35 strokes each or every other day, quite vigorously, so you feel it stimulating scalp - will unplug blocked hair ducts, heal it & force new hair growth. Apply flaxseed oil or vitamin E oils to the scalp and hair, before or after brushing, and wash off in the morning. Will give hair a vibrant, healthy sheen. My hair had started to thin - this regime stopped that too. Stick with it and you will see a vast improvement in about a week, and in a week or two you will see hair growing longer and healthier. Keep up a less vigorous and frequent brushing after that and avoid all other commercial shampoos and damaging products and it will stay that way. Avoid tints, bleaches, straighteners, tanning booths and sunlamps. All harm, scalp and hair.

I wish I could tell you there was a miracle treatment to do this for you. What you need to do is get your hair trimmed regularly. Usually about 1/4" every 6-8 weeks when you are letting it grow out is sufficient. Also make sure you are drinking LOTS of water every day. Take your vitamins, eat healthy, and condition every time you shampoo. Use a deep conditioning at least once a week, maybe twice depending on the shape your hair is in. I always recommend BEDHEAD products ( salon purchase). Good luck, it can be frusterating to wait on it to grow!

I have a set regimen and my hair is almost to the middle of my back after cutting it less than 2in long about a year ago. send me an email and I'll send it to you cause I've done this too many times this week.... I tell you, it works. Mostly everybody in my family has or has had long hair (some people prefer it short), my grandma's hair is down to her waist and that is after getting trims and pressing her hair every other day.

Keep your ends trimmed, drinks lots of water, keep scalp moisturized and try natural herbs. I suggest the MSM (found at GNC and in most vitamin sections). You should see a change within a few weeks.
