I'm 34 and single but feel a bit out of step with all the students where I live. I haven't been clubbing for a few years. Should I swallow my pride and go out again?
P.S. Most of my friends are married so I can't ask them!

Never give in to conforming to what society trys to dictate to us about what we should and should not be doing.Go clubbing as long as you want to.Wear your skirts up your backside if you want to ,be the last one on the dance floor if you want to.This is not a matter of pride just a little lack of confidence.Go clubbing and show the students a thing or two.

It depends which clubs you go to, I am 27 and even I feel like Im babysitting a load of teenagers when I go out clubbing.
Find a club that has a large age group range with people your age.
and stay away from the mutton dressed as lamb approach you dont want to end up been the result of a young lads grab a granny night, sorry to sound so blunt but thats the way clubs are right now, their full of 16 to 24's and if you over that age your past it.
The last time I went clubbing I got called a milf by some young lad, I didnt know whether to feel complimented or cry my eyes out for look like an old mother lol oh well good luck x

Oh my days, -34 is Not Old! lol.....Honey, look around some of the gay clubs, -boys there are still clubbing well into their forties without looking like mutton..(granted, the gay scene does tend to be more diverse)
The trick is to pick your club wisely, obviously some of the more 'meatrack' type places are just designed for adolescents to drink blue bottles of strange alcohol and hit on each other...You could try the places that are billed as a more lounge'y feel, maybe with less emphasis on big-name dj's..
Ask around...find out where your collegues go..i think the worst feeling you can have is the suspicion you'll be the oldest person in the room, but probably you'll discover that, in actual fact, you're somewhere in the middle..
It's all relative...-i remember once standing in the middle of a packed dancefloor and thinking..-oh my god..-they're all kids in here....(i was 26 at the time)

Clubbing is fine, as long as the age group in the club is close to your own. There is nothing more pathetic than going to a club that has people over 10 years younger than you, but at the same time, 5 years is perfectly acceptible. Just be careful where you go.

I've not long turned 34 and have just quit DJ'ing and obviously clubbing because A) the young uns do not know how to have fun anymore and B) It's s**t and C) I am starting to feel a little old in clubs

You can go to those shite Oceana/Ritzy type clubs. Most people in there are over 30 ;o)

There is no maximum age limit on going clubbing - as far as I'm concerned under 21's (or 18's in europe) are the only women that shouldnt be in a nightclub. They dont have a max age at the door. Just a minimum!!

If you want to do it go ahead - people dont bat an eyelid when there are age 40+ men in clubs. Why should it be any different for women.

When should a woman stop clubbing? Well, when she gets bored with it! If it's something you want to do then go ahead! Once we went to a place (full of 18-25's) with some friends, we are all 30 and over, one of my friends was 51 at the time, and we impressed the youngsters so much with our dancing and raving that a lot of them were standing around and cheering us on, taking photos with their mobiles. Just to encourage you: many of the younger girls were telling my 51-year old mate the he's so COOL! Get on with it, shake it, flaunt it, while you've got it.

Whoever said you were middle aged (above) is nutso. You're still young. But at 34 I would say clubbing should no longer be your main social activity (and it doesn't sound like it is). Do it on occasion. See what's out there. Have fun. And if you don't have fun after a few times, you'll know clubbing is no longer for you. Best, GG

No way are you too old to go clubbing! I know what you mean though, the last time I walked into a club my immediate reaction upon seeing what the majority of people looked like there was "woops I forgot to dress like a two dollar whore!" My girlfriends and I go out quite regularly and always have a blast, screw what anyone else thinks!!
