I told my ex in email that somone I know would be visiting his city. He asked if I wanted him to show them around cause he thinks a friend of mine is also a friend of his. He even said I could give them his number so they could ring him if they got stuck and he might be able to help.
Why is he being so nice?

Yes he is a nice person.
We broke up because of the distance and has stayed in touch ever since.

Well, from what you know of your ex, is he such a nice person? Is it consistent with his normal behaviour? If he is going an extra mile, my suspicion is he still holds you dear to his heart. What were the circumstances for your separation? He might still care about you very much, and indeed, also possible he sees it as a possibility for you two to be together again.

He may just want to meet up with old friends. He doesn't have to be a jerk, why complain when he isn't a jerk?
