The reason I ask is because I was one of the people to be caught in the 1/26 (I still say scandal-The irs just threw us to the side). I really am clueless as to when my federal willbe coming even though the irs says 2/16. They have told me so may stories over the course of the last two weeks that I don't know what to believe.

They are totally separate and you do not have to receive your federal refund before you receive your state one! Most people receive their state refund long before their federal refund anyway.

By the way, sorry you are in the big 1/26 mess. I have been following all your stories and read about the computer glitch that kicked you guys out of the system, ect. Hopefully you will now get your check on 2/16 since they seem to be aware of what happened and I'm sure want to get you your refunds asap since they have been held up for so long. Good luck~~~:)

you have to complete your federal income taxes before completling your state taxes, as the federal information us used for the state calculations.
This has no bearing on when you will receive your refund or in what order.
