My ex-gf phoned me today to wish me happy Valentines day. The ordasity she has. We were together for a year and a half. Then she tells me, she loves me as a brother, not a boyfriend. Do you understand how much that hurts after giving up so much. I did everything for that girl, just for her to hook up with some guy she knew for less than a month!!

First of all, if she called you a brother that means she felt comfortable with you as a friend, as a confidant, enjoyed life with you without sex. There are many reasons why a woman could be turned off to sex only. So don't be "totally" offended because she did and does still like you. She just doesn't love you in the way she wants a partner. Apparently she wants a lot of sex in her life which maybe you didn't or couldn't give her. I can see why she has included you for Valentines Day, because she likes you still. I can also understand where a guy has an ego with regard to his prowess. She's not dissing you. Think of her as a sister, and then move on and find yourself a girlfriend.

She showed ill graces to do this today. I don't think she meant to hurt or bother you, just to say hello and you are still a part of her heart. People we love are always a part of us. When I became very ill w/cancer some years ago, I had my mom call my 2nd ex-husband (but not my first) because I still care for him.

It sounds like she still wants to control your emotions, don't let her do that!!!! take that from her show her that it doesn't bother you and tell her not to call you again for any reason!!!! Be strong and don't let her know that it really bothered you because as long as she knows that it still bothers you then she still controls your emotions it's all a mind trip!!!!!

I think that it was very cruel of her to do this to you. She was not being nice to you. But keep your chin up, there is a young lady out there for you and you don't have to say a word to her when you see her just keep walking.

she has a bit of an ego thing going, where she doesn't want you, but wants you to still want her - to feed her self esteem. it's quite common really.
but don't buy into it; forget her and move on.
she sounds shallow.
