It's a history of United Biscuits, but the second through twelfth paragraphs are the history of McVitie and Price.

you will find answers on Scottish heritage: Alexander grant born 1864-1937 was manager in Edinburgh and London. price retired and mcvitie died 1920 - grant became managing director
