6Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:

7Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.

hi lucke. I'm not sure I get your question but I just listened to a message this week about the centurion that explained a part of it that I never got before. ...basically, that the centurian amazed Jesus (and how many things could amaze him?!) because he innately understood the authority that Jesus had and that the spoken Word of Jesus had all the power/authority contained in it that was needed to heal the sick servant. His faith was considered amazing because the Word was all he needed to believe. (Andrew Wommack teaching...if interested, you can listen to his radio/tv archives online...)

He like all Romans worshiped several Gods but the thing is that they were not against worshiping a new one if that deity was benevolent either, but in this mans case I would say that he had a good heart and believed what he had heard about Jesus.
