I learned a long time ago that the media will say anything, real or imagined, for ratings. No one cares if someone does a good job. But their more then happy to grind your face into the dirt when you screw up. If you want to see the media give the cops a fair shake start your own news studio.

It is not just the Police. Most professions will experience negative news. This is because good news, while making for good public interest and the end of the broadcast, or on the bottom of page 5 does not sell.
The media is quite happy muck raking. That is how it makes itself feel journalistically good. Breaking the big story, scandal, gosip and heresay. Even when you tell them the truth, they will put a spin on the story so that the meaning is changed and, you guesed it, darker.
Don't sweat it. Just make sure that the next time you pull over a journalist, you show them the treatment that they expect to recieve.

The media only reports what they want to. They never tell the full story if it is a good story or a bad one. They get so much time per story and they seem to only make comments that will upset people especially if they story is a bad one. The only thing that irks me is that most of us listen to what we hear and believe it. Not knowing that we only got a quarter of the story.

yeah it happens. im in pharmacy and the media does the same thing, theyre always reporting about how some pharmacy or another is marking up generic drugs really high (and really they arent doing it to get super rich, they have to do it because insurance companies dont reimburse them worth a crap so they have to make up all the money they lost on cash people to keep the business running). nothing really you can do about it, the media sells whatever crap they think people will listen to. its scary how idiot journalism people control the masses, which means they basically control society and tell them what they want to beleive. only way you could convince them is to show that those stories get better ratings, and they dont because people like dirt.

the most primary are the Sig Sauer and Glock In 40 S&W high quality. The 9mm does no longer have the preventing potential of a .40. maximum all Federal regulation enforcement carry the .40 cal. by potential of ways a Sig isn't an inexpensive gun.

first of all, being liberal has nothing to do with it, second all media is not liberal. (just in regards to that guy who posted above).
media will start telling good cop stories when people stop being interested in bad cop stories.
would you watch a movie where nothing happens and everyone is happy? it make little sense to print an article that says, "nothing happened to day every one was happy"
"cop kills three in shoot," sell more papers. and while im hate the news media I can't blame them for trying to make money they are a business.
who we should try to fix is people, yup everyone, every single person who slows down to look at a car accident.

Well, this will happen about the same time the media starts reporting on the good things our troops do. Never. The media believes we, the american people are stupid. They think they can only "entertain" us with the bad stuff or boring stuff ( Anna Nicole or an astronaut that wears diapers!)

I would hate to married to a cop. They have a rotton job out there, with the gangs and drugs. True alot of the stories are grim, but thats the way it is. People no how heroic their jobs are. Unfortunately, it is the dirt that sells.

Ignorance is bliss - sounds like on the answers I've read.
I would like to see some good that the cops are doing. It's a shame that we don't know, because I personally would like to see what good they are doing.
