I received an offer to get card wtih a100,000 credit limit from Bankamerica American Express. Is this a good card to have and what are my chances of getting it , if credit is kind of shaky? I recently purchased a home(september)2006. Will this carry any wieght in their desicion to grant me credit?

I'm also banker and dealing with credit cards. Amex card is the number one credit card in the world and keep it as a spare weel. When you have to need, then use it.

This is not shaky. The bank is giving you to become a good customer after seeing your welth. Why he is not giving credit of worth of 100.000 to your friend or neighbourer? Think about it.

I wouldn't suggest it. Bank of America isn't the bank you should be going with. I'd highly recommend Washington Mutual.
