My 2 year old daughter made great progress potty training at first. she will pee in it every time, even waking up in the middle of the night. The first time she went poo poo in it, it happened to be a giant hard turd. It hurt her, now she is afraid to poo in her potty chair. any ideas on how to convince her it won't always be that way?

Congrats on the 2yr old going potty by herself. That is good. Make sure she is getting adequate fiber to help her stool become not so hard. Apples are great for that. Or some apple juice will do. Sometimes I have to rub my daughter's back or hold her hand when she is having a really hard time going. She eats alot of cheese and binds her up. I try to get those apples in her so she isn't hurting. Letting her know that you are there and comforting her will hopefully ease her.

Poor baby. Give her time - the first time my son pooped in the potty, it freaked him out. It didn't hurt, but he didn't know what to make of the splash! LOL He'll be 4 soon, and I've still only managed to get him to poop in the toilet a couple of times.

Just keep trying. She will eventually forget that it hurt. And don't forget - a two-year-old still has plenty of time to learn to use the toilet.

To prevent the hardness/ massive size issue, try giving her prune juice. Start by mixing the prune juice (very small amount to start with) with her favorite drink .... and scale up the percentage over time. Or, see if she will eat a bran muffin daily. Both of these keep my little gal very regular (no hardness or giant # 2's).

That's really tough - telling her that it won't obviously won't work, so she'll have to see it somehow..
