Global warming is at the fore front because politicians found how to use a new platform to get re-elected. The world leaders use it because they found ways to make money at it. This is a made up problem just like Global Cooling in the 1970's. Wake up people. I agree we need to be more efficient with our resources, and we should fine and jail companies who are dumping into our rivers maliciously. I want to stop the raiforest destruction, but to say that global warming is a serious man made issue and we need to destroy the American economy and bow down to the rest of the world certainly does not float my boat. Follow the money on this one and you will see that it is all for political gain and grant money for those scientists who profit off of the government if global warming stays at the front of the issues. Look deep into the Keoto (sp?) Treaty, first of all they took jets to a non-central resort location. Not very environmentally concious. THen in the parameters of the treaty they have a clause that makes it so you can buy or sell polution credits. This is all about shifting wealth and breaking down the United States. This is painfully obvious, just look at peoples agenda. The earth's mean temperature has risen .6 degrees C in the past 125 years. Greenland's icecaps have gotten colder in the past 10 years. The Scientists who do not gain anything on their posisition will tell you that the earth has a natural progression and this is what we are seeing. The UN report is made up of POLITICIANS not a good spread of scientists. THere are as many or more scientists who believe that man in NOT the reason and it is over hyped, but their voice is not heard in the LIberal Mainstream Media. This issue is 99% political, and an attempt to make the USA a socialist nation, and eventually communisim. WAKE UP AMERICA, IT IS TIME TO BE AMERICANS. FOR THE PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE. STOP THE LIES

Each new idea has to pass through these stages:
ridicule
opposition
and then acceptance.

In the case of global warming, ridicule is the phase where people say it's cold in Winter anyway, so they'd wellcome a little global warming.
Calling it a religion is also still ridicule; The ridicule phase denies the idea as a whole.

Opposition would be: Yes, we accept the Earth is warming up, but it's not us, it's nature, it's volcano's, it's the Sun, there's nothing we can do, etcetera.

Acceptance would be... well, when we all find ourselves in rubber boats, I suppose :)

It is interesting to realise that even George Bush, oil-man from an oil-family with lots of oil-friends, has passed the denial phase.
Ok, he's not doing anything, but he's past denieing that global warming actually exists.
Perhaps that should tell you something.
Just because the message is unpopular doesn't mean it's wrong.

It may seem improbable that a shift of a few degrees in temperature could have a large effect, but even a seemingly small shift in the average temperature of a system as vast as the entire surface of the planet, sustained over a number of years, can cause a dramatic change in the way the oceans, land, and atmosphere transfer heat. This transfer of heat is one of the primary dynamics of the earth's climatic system, and it drives such phenomena as precipitation, ocean currents, and storms.
Therefore the issue is not whether there is a greenhouse effect, but rather to what extent human activities are adding to the natural level of warming, whether it is already possible to see the change caused by increases in gases that contribute to the greenhouse effect, and what the potential implications are for human society and life on earth.

Yes. Climate is a very complex study where we barely scratched the surface of knowledge. So it requires faith to believe, just like religion.

Global warmers blame man for the worlds ills, and like religion, if we only change our ways we can make things better.

Both are also based of the philosophy of Altruism.

So, yes, you are right. So-called "global warming" is a new religion.

definite it has develop right into a faith and Al Gore is the pope of the cult.imagine of how a lot funds particular communities will make off of the hype.imagine of all that authorities funds going to "learn".to boot there is in elementary words a lot you may do ,after all whoever controls the elements controls the global.worry is the proper political motivator. climate change is area of the personality of the planet.uncomplicated experience is to have sparkling skill yet till there's a greenback in all of it that occurs is talk, talk and larger talk.authorities rules, fines and consequences(gotta get that bailout funds someplace) We easily want sparkling air and water .i'm the unique recycler and that i do not waste skill clone of many human beings.i exploit skill and do not pass for the "guilt" vacation of doing so. I easily have a situation with Gore the guru who flies round a gas guzzling jet.So does Queen Pelosi who opted for a larger one to fly decrease from side to side to California.bear in mind her putting forward she needs to save the planet, yeah she flies we stroll.we may be able to all commence by technique of making use of the hot skill saving gentle bulbs. Oh I forgot they're those with mercury in them.Oh,nicely appears like a sturdy theory on the time. i wager you all heard that some genius baby-kisser wanted to tax cow farmers for any that non-public more desirable than one hundred for emitting "methane gas" yeah that's real.can we bottle it somewhat?Or on 2d idea deliver some from the bull to that baby-kisser as he's often used with the B.S. even as he sees or smells it.

Tee hee hee.

Funny you should say that, because there is a group of evangelical Christians who have recently jumped on the bandwagon of saving the earth.

Of course, I can understant the theological theory behind it....why would God want to rapture a group of people and take them to a "New Earth" when they destroyed the first one? Wouldn't that be like re-hiring the gardener that keeps mowing over your roses?

Hardly religions promise salvation and usually cause death ,
global warming promises death and does not lie
some examples
solutions and a good source

in North Africa,India,Mexico ,millions of people are effected by land loss and desertification

in recent times thousands of people have died because of exessive heat, usually old people.in India ,Mexico and France,
deforestation causing desertification, the desert conditions causing very cold nights and scorching hot days

in china, thousands of what used to be farmers are running for their lives from the dust storms that have burried their towns and turned their lands into dessert, the globe where they were got to hot for them .
and instead of producing food they are now needing it from some where else, and they will drastically effect the world food prices when they start buying water in the form of grains ,at any cost destabalising governments, in some countries ,could be the result
(are you seeing more Chinese around interested in agricultural lands ,we do here in Mexico)

,the Sahara is growing by 7 kilometers a year
and all of the desserts we know are a results of mans actions ,and they are increasing ,not getting less ,in the dinosaurs days ,there were no desserts.

collectively this planet is drying up because of bad farming practices like, over grazing and fertilizers,

as far as the food production is concerned, Global warming or some of its effects are serious, rising seas result in landloss

each degree rise in temperature means 10%crop loss

more landloss because of desertification every year,we have less areble land to produce food ,for an extra 70 million people ,

and there is less and less water (because of deforestation),to irrigate this production ,
and there are less and less farmers to do it..
who are overpumping deep carbon aquifiers
who are plowing more and more unstable lands because they have lost so many million hectares to desertification ,
because of bad farming practises ,such as using fertilizers and heavy machinary or over grazing

RISING SEAS
The northpole is melting ,and we will know it without ice in our life times.
this does not affect the sea level because it is ice that is already in the water.but the melting ice from Green land and the south pole ,are another matter.

Global warming is in theory reversable, but it will mean global co operation between all countries ,and taking into account human nature and the world politics ,it is unlikely that this will happen,

At least not untill we are all in the middle of planetary disastres and it becomes a battle for the survival of humanity every where.

SOLUTIONS
if you want to help the planet ,plant a tree every week ,if everyone on the planet did we we would be able to reverse the destructive processes

reduce carbon emisions, and they are already working on that by alternative forms of energy and regulations on carbon producing materials, aerosol cans, burning rubbish, industrial chimneys, powerplants etc.

the capture of carbon and the production of water and assist the aquiferous manta.

the world bank pays large subsidies for reforrestation to capture carbon and the best tree for this is the Pawlonia

Waterharvesting projects ,such as millions of small dams.to redirect over ground waterflows from the rains into the ground to supply subteranian water supplies.

the protection of existing forrests.

stop building more highways, urban planning to include vegetation stop building cities encourage people to return to the land to conduct their business from there which now has become possible thanks to the internet.

education to motivate people to auto sufficiency by building more home food gardens.

education on environmental awareness
education on family planning to curb over´populaion

Agricultural education and improvements to follow the principals or sustainability and soil management.

more environmental or land ,design to prevent bush fires, such as--fire breaks

,more dams.regulations and control for public behaviour

alternative effeciant public transport to discourage the use of the internal conbustion engine

recicling wastes,limit water use
