I've heard that this time period is the rainy season, but how much rain are we talking about? Also what sort of average temperature will there be? Cheers

It can be pouring one minute and hot and sunny the next. This is typical of a tropical weather. So it will all depend on the day. Difficult to foretell like in the temperate zones. So accept whatever weather there is and make the best of the day to your enjoyment. I am sure there will be much you can think of while you are there.

Typical hot temperature, you will be looking at 32-36 deg Celsius on a sunny day. Definitely cooler about 27-28 in the rain.

It is the rainy season and it will likely be cloudy most of the time but this does NOT mean it rains constantly. The weather will be hot and humid. But how much rain is hard to tell. Some days it might pour down for half an hour and then stops completely, then another day it might be heavy shower for over an hour.

This is the tropics - expect a lot of rain. As long as you understand it does not rain all the time.

Just don't expect too many sunny days. ( which is good anyway. I was there about the same time of the year that you are going and the sun came out out one morning and I felt so burnt!)
