Maybe you are eating the wrong things - sweet, sugary food might give you a quick energy burst, but is quickly followed by a low blood sugar level because the pancreas has produced a lot of insulin to deal with the sugar sending levels too low.
Best to eat something like plenty of slow release energy foods such as oats, or whole meal bread if that is what your fancy is. These will all keep you fuller for longer and will keep your blood sugar levels steadier.
My guess is that the pancreas has not had to work when you have not had to eat breakfast, so that is why you can go for longer, but this is not good for your health and well being in the long run.
Hope this clarifies the situation a little.
Breakfast is important.

zakiit it right - most foods people eat for breakfast contain a lot of sugar. This'll give you a quick rush and then a low, which will make your body crave more food.
Stay away from all cereals except those with NO sugar in them, don't eat bread as this is broken down into another type of sugar (maltose) which has exactly the same effect. Eat either a cereal such as oats (porridge) with honey instead of sugar.
By far the best sort of breakfast you can eat is continental - meat, cheese etc. (ie. like they eat on the continent!). By eating protein-rich foods you will find you won't be hungry for ages.
It's true - as the saying goes you should breakfast like a King, lunch like a Lord and have supper like a pauper.

Your oatmeal and banana has too a lot sugar, maximum in all probability. at the same time as it drops it makes you hungry and continually will, upload some protein that you want, evidentally no longer eggs. writer 1st baron verulam? Sausage? fowl patty? Peanut butter on toast? The protein will keep on with you. I actually have done this lots. each and every time I basically eat 'some thing' bready, sugar, or maybe the solid banana has sugar and at the same time as it drops, look out. starvation at 10 a.m. :) What are you able to eat for school? A severe protein gran bar? you want some thing in the previous 3:00. .....

You get a taste!! once you start you cant stop! Mwaah haah haa ha!! the breakfast enters your blood stream and circulates around your body causing an evil force to take over!you lose control of all muscles and thought!!You wake up naked in the middle of a field with wrappers surrounding you! the only way to defeat it is to eat a dinner!! It takes 4 hrs to wear off completely otherwise.

My husband is the exact same way. If he eats breakfast, he'll eat snacks and lunch too. If not, he'll go almost all the way until dinner without eating anything. I'm curious as to what the reason is for this myself.

I'm not quite sure why...But it is better to eat most of your calories before 3 pm, so why not eat breakfast, have a snack a big lunch and a light dinner?

Cos your naughty and greedy.
But the real reason is you started your taste buds off. You do not say what sort of things you eat for Breaki but if its a large English breakfast or porridge you will not feel hungry for ages.

I get exactly the same thing! And there are all the nutritional experts saying that if you eat breakfast you won't be tempted to snack until lunch. Rubbish. I reckon its because eating gets your digestive system into action, and therefore ready to eat.
