Using the once a month flea treatments work really well on your pets- Frontline, Advantage or similar. You can buy those in pet stores, they can be costly, but in the long run they are more then worth the inital cost. This past summer I had to switch from using Frontline to Advantage as it seemed the Frontline was doing nothing ( and I wasn't the only person having problems with Frontline).

In the past for getting rid of them in my house I have used a product called - Siphotrol or Siphotrol PM. They have a residual effect, and work using a growth hormone. It disrupts the life cycle of the fleas. I used this when I was living out in the country and had indoor/outdoor cats as well as my dogs, with great results. To the best of my knowledge Siphtrol is only available through a vet clinic, ask your vet if they carry it or can order it in for you.

You have to treat the dog, the dog bedding, the yard and the house all at the SAME time. It's a lot of work , I agree ,this prevents moving the fleas from one place to another. #1) Bathe the dogs(you might not have to bathe the dogs ,the preventive treatment will usually kill the fleas as well as the eggs, but I bathe them anyway this way they're clean and I know they feel better,I use Adams flea conditioning shampoo, blue bottle $10.00) . #2) Apply a monthly preventive treatment on the dogs. #3) Fog the house( I use ONLY Bengal Brand foggers,a box of 3 for about $8.00 ,I promise you won't have a bug problem of any kind ,purchased at Walmart) #4) Spray the yard and bedding( I use Bug B Gone,in a premixed bottle application you attach to the water hose ,purchase at Walmart,Lowes, Home Depot for about $8.00 ) I have used this EXACT method for years and NEVER have a flea problem .I live in Houston where the winters are mild which makes for a better breeding environment for fleas, mosquitoes year round. Once you bathe and treat the dogs, and fog the house,go ahead and fog the attic too you won't have to repeat as long as keep the preventive treatment on the dogs and spray the yard every few months.REMEMBER:The key is to treat everything at the same time.Make sure to empty the dog bowls before you fog and spray and wash before using.NO MORE FLEAS GUARANTEED !! Total cost less than $60.00 depending on how many dogs ie; flea preventive treatment.

Fleas are a major pest. There are various species of fleas - cat fleas, dog fleas, rat fleas and rabbit fleas.
You can get rid of them by the safest and cheapest methods like boric acid.

You should get flea medicine from your vet and if the fleas are in your house they're probably living in your carpet. The only way to get rid of them is to take everything out of your house and set off a flea bomb.

The best product I have ever found for flea control is anything by Zodiac. They've got the full line, including stuff for the dog and the carpet, furniture etc. They've got one product that will kill fleas in the carpet for several months. I've used it for years, always with good results.

you might try those drops you put on the back of their necks (it works for my cats). flea collars don't work! As for your house, there is some flea spray you can buy for your house but make sure you and your dog are'nt around it for a few hours, it's pretty strong.

The only way that has worked for me is regular use of one of the pricier brands available at the veterenarians office. I use Frontline, I have heard that advantage works also.
