There are many online poker room on the internet , however, only a very few can accept US players.I found a poker resource site.

If you are in the United States there are still a few reputable ones that are accepting US citizens. When looking to find a trusted poker room to start playing poker on there are a few things to look for. First and foremost would be financial stability, you don't want some fly by night to run off with your account. Secondly I would look at the number of players they have at any given time. If there are several thousand players on chances are they are a very good poker room. Thirdly I would look at convenience of depositing and withdrawaling your funds.
One of the most popular poker rooms for US players is absolute. They have been around for several years, have over 10,000 players at any given time and depositing and withdrawing funds is quite simple.

I found this list of the top online poker sites. All are very trustworthy and high quality. All offer free downloads of the software and play money poker. My favorites are Poker Stars and Full Tilt.

I play the Daily Star Poker... or the Sun poker, both trusted and virus free sites... You can register and cash account but I play for free!!

I'm not sure what exactly you are looking for if you are talking about a free site or one you can bet money.
There are two options that I know of. There is Pogo.com which is just a games website but has various poker games. Then there is that pokerstars.net that the superstars always sport their hats.
Those are the only two that I can think of.
