hi i am going to france for a day and taking my 17 year old son ,will he be able to purchase ciggerattes and tobaco hope someone can help thanks

Firstly, there are no duty free goods within the EU.
Secondly, the UK will allow people to bring in whatever they can legally buy in the UK so he will be able to bring in cigs.
Thirdly, I do not know what the legal age is in France to purchase cigarettes.

i work on cross channel ferry
you can buy a packet of 20 duty free cigs from the bar all the rest in the shop are french duty paid customs have a guide line of 3000 but you can buy as much as you like if you can prove to them it is for your own use
you can buy cigs and give them as presents but it is illegal to sell them on even if it is the same price as you paid for them and your not making money out of it

No, I don't think so, he has to be 18 for utilising the Duty Free scheme, be careful, trhe custaoms WILL confiscate it, unless you are prepared to pay the excess duty on your purchases.....................Tony M
