I got myself a pedometer. Made sure I walked 15000 paces per day week one, 16000 paces week two and so on.

I coupled that about thinking before I ate or drinking something

1) Watch your diet; just avoid fatty foods and sugar. Eat lots of veggies, about 10 to 30 percent of your daily intake of protein, and about the same of good quality carbohydrates. Careful too with what you drink (alcohol hidden sugar in juices, etc.)

2) Do cardio exercise for at least 30 minutes 3 times a week. Choose the cardio you like and keep an intensity that you can hold for a 30 minutes work out.
Walking at a good pace is consider cardio too. So do what yo can. Keep a pace that allows you to say a sentences but hardly more than that. If you can not say a word without gasping you are doing way to much intensity.
Slowly work on your resistance to reach the 30 minutes 3 times a week goal.

3) Do some tone up exercise. They will grow muscle. Muscle to needs to burn fat to grow. Muscles are the fat burning ovens.
Do them for 30 minutes 2 times a week. Concentrate in large muscles: tummy, back, legs, arms, shoulders.

Any time you exercise stretch! specially after exercising. Just a few minutes are needed.

Alternate the cardio and toning up days, and give yourself plenty of rest. Your body gets fit and slim while resting not while exercising!!! So do enough but do not over do it, specialy at first.

RELAX you have enough time to get in great shape by July!
Just you follow the 3 suggestions mention above and keep the motivation high. You will see results in no time.

PS Come back and tell us how it went.

the best thing is to eat 5-6 small meal a day. it has really worked for me. I have lost 4 kg in 3 weeks. and still losing more....

this is my programme and believe me it is not unhealthy as other diets and you never feel hungry!!!! first of all do some exercize in gym 30 minutes treadmill then bike 3 days a week

and here is a list of food from which take 5 or 6 of them each day to eat after 2-3 hours!!!!
but remember the exact portion and only one of the foods from the list, then after 2 or 3 hours another one

Here is the list:
100 g low fat chicken ham
150 g chicken breast grilled
200 g mixed vegetable salad
200 g fruit salad
low fat yogurt plain or fruit
1 glass milk
1 low calorie fruit bar (if you wanted or needed something sweet or also a little raisins with nuts) but NO every day!!!!

try to combine this list everyday and drink plenty of water!!!!! and eat every 2-3 hours. if you felt hungry eat some fruit or extra portion of yogurt or milk

good luck!!!

Eat less fat and excercise more. It works everytime.
Stock up on fruit and veg.
Take sandwiches to work and lots of fruit so you are not temped to go to the local cafe.
Allow yourself some treats like a kitkat in your pack lunch.
Start going to the gym / swimming get a friend to go with you, getting motivated to go is an **** but you WILL feel so much better after you have been.
Dont be downhearted when you dont loose 1/2 stone in 1 week!
Good luck and have a super holiday.

5 months is plenty of time to lose weight properly (not doing faddy diets) I know its boring but its better to lose it slowly by changing you eating habits or exercise routine because if you go back to your old ways you will pile on more than what you've lost.
1-2 pounds a week will help you lose 1.5 stone - 2.5 stone by July.
It depends on your eating habits now as to what plan suits you. Tesco have a variety of diet plans that you can do a questionnaire to find out which suits you best.
I personally find that by eating breakfast of porridge (I have Soya milk) I don't feel hungry at all until at least 1pm. And as long as I have prepared lunch & tea I eat my 5 fruit a day and eat well. If I don't prepare I end up eating whatever I can get my hands on quick, which is usually fatty foods.
Good luck & enjoy your hols

Try the GI diet combined with a good exercise programme (3-4times a week for an hour), including weight training to build muscle that speeds up your motabilism and burns fat. I lost 2.5 stone in 5 months that way.

Good luck!

Weightwatchers has worked for me. I have lost healthy amounts (between 1/2lb and 3lbs a week) so its more likely to stay off.

It helps you plan your meals and you dont get hungry for more food, plus if you do some extra excercise you can treat yourself more.

I have lost 2 stone in 5 months. Not sure how much you are looking to lose but if its around that WeightWatchers is ideal.

Check out the DASH diet; well-known by heart disease patients.
OR a diabetic meal plan works well to.
Both are sensible ways of losing weight quickly when combined with exercise.
Don't risk your health on fad diets just for a trip.
You can copy of the DASH diet here:

5 months is plenty of time to lose weight without doing anything drastic or dangerous to your health.

Follow a sensible, healthy eating plan and combine it with some resistance training and walking.

Link to the one I use below.

The key is to modify your diet and exercise habits, replacing unhealthy ones with healthy ones. Once you address the habits that are causing you to gain weight (or, not lose the weight), you will take off the pounds and be more likely to keep it off than you would going "on" and "off" diets.
