yes, expensive gifts are great, but sincerity is better. Rather than going out buying something expensive isnt as personal than a nice romantic evening.
Get home before her, run her a hot bubble bath with candles scatttered around - when she gets home present her with the candlelit bathroom and once she is in bring her a glass of champagne, cook her your best meal - or her favorite, set the table with candles, her favorite music playing... Im not gonna tell u wat comes next ;-)
the best thing u can do is pamper her and show her how much u appreciate her.

Make a good dinner , give her a massage , then watch a movie , all free , and she will remember them forever. simple thing's can be romantic too. That is what I'd want
