Is that immoral?

I think there are different types of respect.

If someone is my Elder they automatically deserve things like...getting my seat on the bus or train and not having the disturbance of my potty mouth. Things of that nature. If the elder treats me poorly, then out of respect for an older generation, I would keep my mouth closed and move on. They are set in their ways for the most part and most likely can not be changed. This is different than respecting someone of your own age group. I would never give my seat up to anyone unless they were disabled or elderly. See Elderly people have already gained a type of respect by living as long as they have. If someone my own age treated me poorly I would speak up for myself and let it be of record how I feel. Then move on. People who are liars don't get respect. People who are negative don't get respect.

Bear in mind that one day if you are lucky you'll have them too, if you are not that lucky you will be dead or have an immobile face and wear wigs like Cher.

You shouldn't respect anyone just for having wrinkles and grey hair, that comes to all of us but you could certainly respect someone older for their wisdom... if they indeed have it and demonstrably use it. Not all older people are wise.

Just getting older is not a good reason to be respected.

However, it is deserving of a certain amount of consideration for the ravages that time brings.

Walking a little slower with someone who is not spry; fetching and carrying for someone who struggles to get out of a chair; giving your arm to someone who has balance problems...these kinds of things are what you will wish for in similar circumstances.

You shouldn't. There are plenty of people who grow old but not wise. And respect is something you earn by making good judgements and helping others; wrinkles are just wrinkles.

You don't respect someones hair color or wrinkles, you respect the person. I respect every person. We were all created by God, should we not respect Gods creations?
I don't however respect every ones ways, but I do respect the person.
SO BE IT.

their white hairs signifies they've experienced more than you do, they've done and seen things that you haven't yet. . . . we should respect them 'coz they're older than us. . .God designed that to be. . .you might wanna be respected when you'll get your white hairs and crow foots someday. .. trust me. hehee

respect is a two way street. that which you despise in others, is that which you depise in yourself.
