On real cold days how much oil does an oil heating system burn per day?

The way I figured it was it came out at about 6.5 gallons a day for a 1200 sq foot home, taking into consideration normal insulation factors etc. But I was curious if in the industry anyone might know the average consumpution per day?

i am not sure if i understood ur question but there is a valve in the burner (feeds the burner with fule) its carved on it its consumption per hour
in my house its 1.6 litters per hour a deisel burner
