Eros is the god of love, and eternally the youngest of the gods. His father was unknown, though it was widely believed that it was either Zeus, Ares, or Hermes. He wears a quiver from which he draws arrows to shoot with his bow into human hearts, causing them to fall in love. Thus, he is also known by the Roman name Cupid. At times, he is armed with a helmet, shield and spear, and often depicted riding a lion or dolphin.

Aphrodite! she was the goddess of beauty.
Eros was a small god of love, but he isn't so power full as Aphrodite who is 1 of the 12 Gods in Olympus.

I think it was Aros and Aphrodite.

(Looks like I'm the only one who doesn't know how to spell "Eros".)

Oh well...

There was another evolutionary process:

From the Sumerian Inanna
to the Babylonian Ishtar
to the Hittite "lady of heaven"
to the Greek Diana

(Not sure of that final stage--this was the goddess of love and war.)

Don't you mean goddess? The wonderful, sexy Aphrodite, who had an saucy affair with Aries once. That was one uproar on top of that mountain!
