I am about to marry a Russian/Ukrainian woman. She is the most wonderful woman I have ever met and I have dated American women for 35 years. American women are spoiled and unappreciative. The women's movement has taught them to blame every male individually for 5000 years of male-dominated civilization. It has taught them to repress their natural femininity and sexuality as being demeaning. They may have equal rights and pay, but they are no longer "women". Russian/Ukrainian women are just as smart and independent as American women, but they have not forgotten that they can be 100% women and enjoy it. They are proud of their femininity and sexuality and know that while they are equal to men, but they don't have to be a man to be equal. I have always sent my girlfriends flowers on Valentines Day, but today I got more thanks from my Russian/Ukrainian fiancé than I have ever received from any 10 American girlfriends combined. I positively KNEW that she loved the flowers. Why did I waste 35 years dating American women?

And a note for Kivi: Do you know why younger American men are not gentlemen anymore? Because starting 30 years ago American WOMEN told them to STOP being gentlemen. I cannot tell you how many women have told me to stop opening doors for them, to stop insisting on lifting the heavy boxes, to STOP TREATING THEM LIKE LADIES. You've only lived in the US for 8 years, Kivi, you have no idea what you are talking about. Younger American men are no great catch compared to other men who have manners, I agree with you. But your generalization about American men wanting Russian/Ukrainian women so they can be lazy is false. We're just tired of American women trying to make us into second-class citizens.

Had a Ukrainian boyfriend.
I think the girls there are pretty, but the guys are not so good looking at all. It's really rare to find a good looking guy there, you really have to search.
And by the way, what that one dude said about American women, I cannot agree with. To blame it only on one gender is not fair. I am European, came to this country 8 years ago, and to be honest, I prefer West/Central European guys over Americans. The majority of American guys only have one thing on their mind and they think having an athletic body is all you need to look at. How about a nice face too?
Most of them are not even gentlemen, and have no knowledge of the outside world. No wonder the divorce rate is so high here, both the men and women don't seem to get their act together, because they always blame it on the other sex. Women should turn back to their feminin side (I agree), but the men should also learn how to be better husbands and be there for the family. It's such a disgrace. And since Russian and Ukrainian women usually stick with their abusive, alcoholic, cheating husbands, it's no wonder that so many American guys run after them. 'Cause they don't have to change, since the woman does everything.
Seriously...think about it.

A note to Taivo: To be honest with you, I have never heard of women telling men to stop having manners. I don't know where you got that from. All I was talking about were the differences between American and European men, what my experiences have been so far. And I like the old fashioned way where women were lady-like and the men were gentlemen. But now adays, here in America, you have both men and women behaving like pigs sometimes. (I'm talking more about the younger generation-I'm in my 20s) But yes, I have to admit, some American girls can be VERY spoiled, materialistic, superficial, and ignorant. And besides, even though you might be older than me, still I know a little more about the differences between the European and American culture.

Anyway, wish you all the best with your fiance. Take good care of her and don't take advantage of her like some Russian and Ukrainian guys do. Ukrainian girls are really down to earth, very friendly and sweet. They deserve good husbands who are loving and respectful. And in case you go to Ukraine or something, it is beautfiul! I really enjoyed it. People are a little hard to get to know, but when they open up, they are very warm people. And the food is great. Try Salo and Borscht. "Eta vkusniy"- It's delicious.

I am married to one. Wonderful women. I do not want to offend "western women", so I won't say too much about them.

I will simply say that there is a clear distinction between masculinity and femininity with Russian/Ukrainian women. They are not "sex slaves", they are not after "free visas" or "quick cash" (there are some, but this type is usually a man posing as a woman), nor are they "housewives". But they are hard working and still maintain their womanhood. They are usually well educated.

I have Russian friends.. Some of them nice but some of them are only interested in the pocket of their man... coz they come from such a poor country...If you are loaded you can get a russian girl, do not worry..
Find a Turkish girl... They are all well educated, clever and beautiful... And they are very respectfull...
