Bring it with on the the plane and have the flight attendants hang it up for you. Trust me they have room!!! You don't want to run the risk of having it lost or worse, damaged in the underbelly of a commercial plane.

Don't ship it, you never know what could happen when it's out of your hands! Take it on the plane with you and have the flight attendants hang it in first class. You may want to call the airlines before hand and let them know about it. If it's a big, puffy one, then check it in a suiter case. Either way, you'll also want to buy and bring a travel steamer, but be sure to try it out on something before you try it on your dress! Also, the hotel should have a steamer you can use, call them as well to make sure before you go buy one. Congratulations!

Most airlines are very accomodating to the brides. Never check the dress on the plane actually I was told anything that you will wear that day and cannot replace should be carried on that plane with you at all times. Anyway check out which airline you are flying with they should have a place to hang your dress on the plane more and more people are going away to get married so they are prepared for this.

Your best bet might be to ship it (with receipt) to a cleaners or wedding shop on island and have them press it for you. Or, arrive early enough to have it steamed before the event. Congrats!

I would use the equivalent off a plastic wrap that covers suits when dry cleaned.
