Who could've known only 10 or 20 years ago !!
Of course the Bible foretold of this, but can anyone honestly say that they 'knew' it would come so quick.. . . . . and 'knew' it would be NOW ???

Some are so 'blind' that they cannot 'see' .

What is most notable to me is how the ancient heresies have now surfaced anew and are full swing. Lillith, the "mistranslation" of the virgin birth, the inherent divine nature of Christ, all of these began thousands of years ago and most were refuted by the Council of Nicea. It's a shame to see them resurface now with such vigor, as if we'd never discussed these issues before....

What's most disturbing to me is the comparisons we get to Radical Islam. The new trend now is that all "fundamentals" are wrong and are bad for society. It's getting quite creepy.

Gracious look at some of these answers. We have only ourselves to blame, though. The Church (body of) has spent the last hundred years conforming to the world and conforming to society. It is only now, when a few of us stand up and say enough, that the world reacts so negatively to us.

Well, any time that a group (ethnic, religious, whatever) has had special privileges or a privileged place in a society and then is asked to give up their advantages, it feels like persecution. Generally, those privileged people have to be *forced* to give up their special privileges...

It isn't persecution, but it feels that way to them.

Just like a single child whose parents have another child after the first has basked in the undivided attention of his/her parents for a long time.

It's difficult to give up having everything your own way. You want things to continue the way they had been. You want your parents to continue to give your own wishes and desires top priority.

And when there is conflict between you and the younger child, and your parents insist that your sibling has the same rights that you have, it's very likely that you'll experience this as your parents "taking the side" of the younger sibling. It's likely that you'll feel persecuted or abused.

Of course, that isn't true, either.

And some older siblings never get over their childish resentment about this, and will spend a lot of time with other older siblings discussing how awful it all is that they have to have "fairness" as a part of their life; that they don't get to have things their own way anymore. And they will frequently epress their resentment in terms of how "stupd" their younger siblings are...

Hahaha, Christians from day 1 have believed the rapture was just around the corner, and they haven't been right EVER. Heck, 20 years after Jesus died Christians were already believing the rapture was imminent because of "how bad things were". Of course, they didn't get it right then and they've never been right since.

It's also funny that Christians don't realize that this perpetual persecution complex is brainwashed into them. See, Christianity is like a virus of the mind, and infecting its human hosts with a "persecution complex" is one of Christianity's defense mechanisms.

Whenever the Christian mind virus perceives that it's being threatened by science and reason and some of its valuable superstitions by which it sustains itself are about to be debunked, it kicks in the "persecution complex" of the infected Christian host so that the host reacts in righteously indignant fashion and refuses to listen to all reason, thereby preserving the Christian mind virus intact.

Btw, Christianity has never been above attacking rival religions. The early church fathers weren't above resorting to outright forgery in order to discredit early rival Christian sects such as the Gnostics and Docetics and gain an advantage over them. They even eventually killed off the Nazarenes, who were actually the true theological descendants of Jesus (Jewish Christians who maintained that some observance of Mosaic law was part of doctrine, not just faith alone).

And of course, we musn't forget the Inquisition, Salem Witch Trials and Crusades.

it really is stressful...i do not study 2d type electorate yet i recognize that a political candidate would not admit it and that i even experience uncomfortable putting forward it in public the following in Texas. inspite of if, admitting it might want to help others see how unsuitable they many times are. Edit: Macattack, research Thomas Jefferson. He replaced into obviously no Christian. no longer particular about J. Adams and no human being knew what G. Washington replaced into, except a non secular Freemason. lots of the FF were no longer 'God of the Bible' believers. definite, they tolerated different sects b/c they'd no different determination. holding your fool faith to your self and worshiping or praying in or on your human being time isn't that frustrating! Why do you insist on being so unpatriotic and attempting to mandate that hateful faith at something human beings? '...we are no longer a Christian usa'~Treaty of Tripoli, article 11 Edit: Jackie, no. you may not condemn human beings (gay human beings). easily, you may say inspite of bigoted ingredient you want as long as you do not incite violence. you in elementary words won't be able to act on it. UNDER ATTACK???? Christianity, backed up by the Church, has been ATTACKING ANY different Faith as well as Atheists and Agnostics for MORE THAN 2000 YEARS, dicriminating them, cursing them and, back in remote times even murdering them, and now you come up saying it's UNDER ATTACK???? What's happening now, my friend, is that FINALLY, people began to open their eyes and minds understanding what a BIG BIG LIE Christianity has been always telling the world; it's not an attack, it's just an AWAKENING.

Personally I refused Christianity when I was 10 years old, which was something like 26 years ago;) Atheists=Enlightened people HAVE ALWAYS EXISTED, although the Church always tried to get rid of them (us) one way or the other;) the only difference is that now, our number is just GROWING faster, and Christianity is loosing ground;)

Christianity has been under attack since about 600 AD, worldwide. We enjoyed pre-eminence in Europe, so there weren't a lot of people willing to go against society. Our persecution coincides with the rise of Islam.

In America, all religions have had respite from persecution. Jews considered this their "promised land" for 300 years because it was the only place on earth where anti-Semitism was nearly non-existent. The only religious bigotry you'll find in our history is either anecdotal (isolated incidents) or small racist groups like the KKK, the Aryan Nations or the Order, whose membership has never been substantial.

It has only been in the last 40 years (not 10 or 20) that liberals have begun developing an extreme intolerance for people who disagree with them. They hate Christians as a group, they hate white people as a group, they hate conservatives, they hate family values, they hate patriots and military personnel, and they hate being exposed for what they are.

Liberalism wasn't like this during the depression or WW II. It's only when the baby boomers came of age and some of them began rebelling against authority and society in the 60s (20 years after the end of WW II, when the "baby boom" began) that the movement took a sharp turn leftward.

There are very few Roosevelt liberals left.

More people have died for their belief in Christianity (worldwide) in the 20th and first part of the 21st centuries than all of the other centuries put together.

We, as Americans, are just becoming aware of the problem and we,as Americans, are just now coming under attack just as viciously - perhaps more so ,actually because we are perceived as a Christian nation - for our beliefs and for spreading the news that JESUS SAVES.

It was predicted that Christianity would come under attack before the Rapture but more people will accept Jesus as their Savior before the Rapture than at any time before (probably 1/3 of the world's population). Have patience and God Bless You !

Well ..... one thing for sure, people do get more intelligent over time. And heck, if Christianity only come under attack in recent years, the crusaders would not had been form to "protect" their god. Read some history before forming a conclusion.

It had always been under speculation.
And besides it had been since the time before Jesus and after Jesus.
So its been happening for a very very very very long time. And each time people thought they knew!
coz it had been prophesised.

"Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter"
1 Peter 4:16

So there is nothing to be surprised abt!

If any religion is being attacked in this country right now, it's probably Islam, in this post-9/11 world. Christianity is doing just fine: An 80% majority in the U.S., two billion followers worldwide, and tremendous influence in the affairs that go on in this country. What exactly do you think is being 'attacked'?
