Hiya. I've recently gone through the process of growing out my fringe/bangs. Its now down to my nose, but I've been having problems with it. I've always thought of a side part as being totally away off the face and neatly down the side. However, mine covers half of my face.

I've tried changing the part so that there's less on one side, but that only complicates things further as the OTHER side would be more covered. Is this because my hair is too short?

The rest of my hair, well, one layer of it is the same length as my outgrown bangs. I was thinking that perhaps because it was so short, it 'followed' the rest of the hair to the front and thus covered my face.

All in all, my question is this: When my hair grows out, as in, past shoulder length, will it be off my face? I've drawn a MSpaint to help you answer this question. Thanks guys.

Just another question to make things a little clearer: Is it NORMAL for a side part to come half way/1/4th down your face? Thanks!

try spraying some hairspray into the brush you use, then brush your hair in the style you prefer and it should keep you hair in place unless you mess with it

Your hair is probably very fine, which is harder to make it "stay" where you want it. As the other people said, try using bobby pins or clips, or wear a headband. You need to train your hair to lay a certain way if there's no natural part where you want it to lay. Another thing you can do is tease the part that doesn't cooperate. That means you take a comb, hold the hair up and comb up and down on the hair. It makes it kind of "ratty" looking, but once you style it, it will make the hair heavier and easier to work with. Remember to use a product on your hair wet, blow dry the hair in the direction you are trying to train it to fall to, and then be generous with some hair spray at the end. Don't use gel, that just makes the hair crusty. Use a higher end product like a polmolient (spelling?) or a wax type product. I use all Aveda products, which work wonderful! This will really hold the hair where you want it. Then you can use a thick headband. That will help train the hair direction as well. Hope this helps!

You need to let it grow out. In the mean time to keep the short part out of your face you could pull your hair back. Thats very attractive on an asian woman.

I had my hair styled like that to for a whilst so what I did became take and pin my long bangs to the section with 3 bobby pins and then 2 on the different section. (in case you have a kinda funky experience of vogue like me you may desire to apply shiny bobby pins or ones with little gemstones or some thing like that.)

Use bobby pins for your bangs/fringe to hold it over to the side, it will eventually train itself to stay there. The bobby pins just help it stay over.
