I use Google Translation: http://www.google.com/language_tools as the AltaVista BabelFish site (http://babelfish.altavista.com/tr) has recently stopped working for me.

All documents?
I think to translate any language to another just by machine translation is suicide and lost time! I am a translator of some languages and among site online dictionaries I prove the Yahoo dictionary is one of the best.
Even though the professional translator use the Trados program, he should have a good specific dictionary (at least, excel files) selected by specific expertise to support the program.
The babelfish program can translate long senteces at the same times as its advantage, but you should know the target language grammar and meanings very well if its translation results came well or not. Everytime I enter in Babelfish I laughs alone, because of its sometimes ridiculous translation.
Happy valentine day!

One tip on what NOT to use - www.freetranslation.com. It translates idioms LITERALLY rather than giving you the correct translation - ie it translates the idioms into the bunch of words that are put together to form it. It's not worth using
On the other hand, Wordref is a better bet. You can ask people who use the forums what a certain phrase means, and as they are fluent speakers rather than a computer-generated translator that doesn't realise what its saying, as well as translating single words. Wordref Link below >

There are many websites like that, mentioned in the other answers, but you should keep in mind that automatic translators produce GIBBERISH if you use them to translate full sentences! Never use the output of these sites for any "official" or business purposes! You will make yourself a laughing stock if you do that!

Babelfish are good for translating words of phrases, but for a document you'd have to pay. I know there are sites that do this for various languages; try googling.

If you go to freetranslation.com it will translate things for you in multiple languages. I think it has a program you can buy that will translate documents, webpages, etc.
