The typical Celtic cross is not a racist symbol. However Odin's Cross is often used as a White supremacist symbol. Odin's Cross is a Celtic cross that is perfectly symmetrical (just as tall as it is wide) and enclosed in a circle. People often call this a Celtic cross simply because they do not know that it has a more specific name.

NOTE:
The second link is a link to a store, but i am not soliciting because i will not benefit in any way if somebody purchases anything. I simply posted that link because it is a good example of a variation of Odin's Cross.

Odin is out of Norse Mythology, not Celtic History. That symbol that "some guy" posted is nothing but a White Supremacist symbol. The Nazi's (the Aryans) thought they were descendants of Viking warriors. They were also big followers of the occult, and black magic. Let's not confuse heritage for hate. (rant off)
If you do some research you will find that the real Celtic symbols out there actually have meaning to them. Like Maori tribal. There is nothing wrong with having a Celtic tat.

it's your body so you can do what you want to do but i would advise against getting a tribal tattoo of any kind. if you want a celtic cross, great! but don't ruin it with a tribal design. also, if you don't think there is anything wrong with having a tattoo then that is all that matters. and i have never heard anything about celtic crosses being racist.

I am Catholic and I have never seen a Celtic cross that looked inappropriate - I love them!
Go for it and good luck!

do your homework. Read up on the meaning of the cross , history, etc. And, then, you can make an informed decision. The best advice I can give you is to just make sure it is what you really want. And by the way, don't worry what everyone else thinks, you'll never be able to please everybody....

Celtic crosses are Irish they are not racist. I do believe that if you are not Irish heritage it may be slightly inappropriate. I am getting one because I am Catholic and Irish.
