Is this how it is throughout the world? What is main dispute between them?

There are religious differences going back to the 7th century but this is not the main problem. They have mainly lived side-by-side in peace in most places for centuries.

However, they live in their own neighborhoods with their own schools etc., so in a time of turmoil like in Iraq and Lebanon at the moment it can take just a small spark to ignite conflict between them.

Its just a dispute between two different sects within Islam. Its a similar thing to the Catholic-Protestant divide in Christianity where many wars were fought between the two in the 1600's and 1700's

Basically there was no such gruping in islam at the times of Muhammad(pbuh) ....but after his death peoples got divided into different groups and major groups are Shi'at and Sunnis who differ on the issue of Caliphs.....Basic believes are same in all groups

The fight between the two is totally political.......Some evil powers make them fight each other for their political gain, All shiiat and sunnis don't fight and they live in peace and love with each other, but only few percent of them fight who are playing for those political hands knowingly or unknowingly !!

Thats a very sad things among muslims ! there is no major dispute but they fight for the gain of power in one or other way !!but its not throughout the world......its only in few countries !

Yeah, it's a violently "peaceful" religion. They fight amongst themselves in their "peaceful" religion. Why do Muslims try and "assure" people that Islam is "peaceful", who are they kidding?
