cause the toilet bowl water is not chorlinated..make sure you dont leave toilet bowl cleaner in bowl vomiting will result or runny bowels

Its not only the cleaner that can make them sick, there is alot of bacteria and germs inside their and I never let my dog or cat drink from the bowl, always make sure you put the lid down. My cat would only drink right when it was flushed, as soon as he heard it flush he would run and get it, now he drinks out of the well head in my basement even when he gets big bowls of water. The size of the water compaired to their little bowls is my best guess.

Well I can tell you its not because its "cleaner", "colder" or any of the sort. Cats and Dogs dont like the chlorine or fluoride smell of tap water, Im not sure if you've noticed that your pets water bowl always has dirt, food in it? Well its not an acciedent, they put stuff into their water bowls to mask the clorine smell, dogs and cats also like running water as opposed to still water. What Ive done is went to PetsMart to buy a "pet water fountain"- its a water bowl that has the water fountain down, they love it and always drink from the falling water. I would invest in one of these because drinking from the toilet is not sanitary and might be harmful to your dogs' health.

Dogs and cats do not recognize your toilet as being a toilet. To a dog, the place to eliminate waste is outdoors. To a cat, it's the kitty box, or outdoors. So they cannot assimilate a human toilet in the manner we do. All they see is clear, running water.

I really don't no why either my dog always has water out for her but insists on drinking out of the toilet especially when it has just been flushed so it might have something to do with it being colder. lol.

Because the water is cold, deep and changed frequently.
.I used to have a dog who would plunge her head in the toilet, up to her eyes..and then come and wake me up to be let outside..She would just nose me and drag her long wet ears over me.. It got me up fast! I tried to get the family to leave the lid down, but as it didn't happen to them, they would seldom remember!
sometimes i wish that I was more ill tempered..Then the family might have remembered!

my cat drinks water from every place where she find it, very strange places, my cup of tea, from the bowl with potatos waiting to be cut, and, of course, from the toilet. but there i let down and she can't drink.

well let me start by saying isn't that gross lol. I believe cause its cold and maybe also their water bowl is empty lol
