RAW files are the data exactly as it is read from the sensor in a high end digital camera, without any processing at all. You will almost certainly need special software to read them and convert to a more common format like .jpg. Try the matching camera software, or possibly something like Photoshop from Adobe

It's good to have a camera that can save the pictures in RAW format as it allows you more scope when you want to make changes to your photos. E.g. you can change the exposure, colour balance, etc., as you would on the camera.
But RAW takes up much more storage space and it is not viewable on most PC and DVD/CD players. You need to convert it to a easily readable format and jpeg or .jpg is the most common. I suspect that with your camaer, there was a program on your CD to do this. IT will probably be called something like 'Image Data Converter'. Install that and it will let you do the conversion. If it is not included, try this site:

I would also change the setting on the camera to store in jpg in future, unless you want it in RAW. Hope that helps

Where did the pcitures come from? RAW is a file format used by some digital cameras. You may be able to open them with software that came with your camera but without additional software Windows cannot view them.
To share your pictures you would need to conver them to JPG.
