I keep getting this pain on the right side of my head around my temple area.It lasts for about 5 seconds then goes away.It pulses when it happens. It doesn't feel like a normal head ache but like a pressure pain.I have had an MRI scan but nothing shows up.My mum died from an brain aneurysm 3 yrs ago and I get worried that It might be early symptoms of one. Acupuncture does not help me either.I've had this prob for 4 years now and get the pains 4-5 times a day. Does anyone else get these or know what it might be ?? please any help or light on this delema would be appreciated.
thankyou

<>You need to consult a GOOD neurologist (and possibly a neurosurgeon). If you already have, find a different one. Keep trying until someone gives you answers.

Sorry to hear about your mum, life can be so darned tough :(
So, it can be said that your fear because of your family history is valid.
The pains in your temple area may be due to something not picked up on the MRI...like sinus congestion in that area. Sinus' are around our eyes and our nose and they can build up with pressure causing this effect.
See if you can get a CT of the head sinus area and get it looked at. I hope it soon clears up for you.
The only other thing I can think of is to do some relaxation exercises in your favourite quiet place at least 3 times a day, it should help you.

#1 drink about 1/2 gallon of water per day - the head of neurorology at UCDavis (about 10 years ago) likened a car low on oil to a body low on water (engine siezing up).
#2 Daily muscle relaxer (1 or 2 swigs of molasses or 1 or 2 bananas) they contain magnesium and potassium.
#3 Massage therapy - professional or read The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies (it teaches you how). The principle that causes the headaches regardless of how severe is that muscles get knots (trigger points), which make the muscles stay tight, which press on nerves.
Your back, shoulders, neck and everywhere on your head will definitely play into the cause and it will take a while to get all the trigger points to go away.

I completely understand what you are going through. I have been suffering from headaches/migraines for 5 years now. It's to the point that I don't remember a day going with out one. I've had the MRI'S and I've done the therapy and the drugs and it doesn't help. They tell me its stress and Lupus related. I have lupus, its a auto immune deficiency. Any who my best advice is to find a way to get through it. I've found that stopping what ever I'm doing when i get Sharp pains in my head helps, if i stop and breath and concentrate on it really hard like almost "telling it" to go away it helps. Or other wise If i don't have to work I will spend the day relaxing, lay in bed with ice on my head, showers, stretching my neck and back, simple things to help relive the pain. Other wise if i am at work, I will sit at my desk and stretch my neck and close my eyes when i get a minute to my self! Have you tried a CHIROPRACTOR, i haven't but i heard they do wonders. I haven't tried acupuncture yet, my mom wants me to but I'm sorta skeptical about it. What ever you do I hope it helps, as i know what you are going through and know it sucks big time. for people who don't go through it they think it's for a lack of better words all in our heads!! If you do find something that helps please let me know! As will I for you!

I'm not sure what it is, if you go to a medical site, maybe they will be able to help you out if you tell them about your problem. Here is a link.
