As long as the bride is not wearing a white dress for her wedding, then it should be fine. But if you are not sure what color she is wearing, then I would not wear a white dress. The tradition of not wearing white to a wedding came about so the bride (who typically wore white) would be set apart from the rest of the guests. But a lot of brides are wearing other colors (pink, champagne, etc.), so as long as you are not wearing the same color as the bride, I think you should be fine.

I wouldn't. People will think you are trying to steal the spotlight. Even though that is not what you are trying to do at all. It's a really bad idea. The bride is supposed to be the only one in white and I know that if anybody shows up at my wedding in a white dress I will be pissed. You don't want the bride to get mad at you if you guys are friends. I still wouldn't do it with the red belt and brown shoes. And honestly if you have that much doubt to where you have to get on here and ask other people then that right there already shows you that it's a bad idea. Good Luck with that. I hope you decide not to though.
You should go buy black dress and wear the red belt with some hot red heels. That would look awesome and the bride will probably compliment you instead of hate you. Just a thought!

Wedding etiquette states not to wear white to someone else's wedding. However, this rule has relaxed a bit. Women can wear white dresses with a print. Plain white is still a no-no. And as for the red belt, wedding dresses with colored details are becoming more and more popular, so it doesn't make it any better. You still run the risk of upstaging the bride. If this happens, she will never forgive you.

Not at all. No-one shld be wearing a white dress except the bride, its wedding etiquette. It is also an insult to show up in a white dress, it says that you are trying to attract attention away from her and that you have no regard that it is her special day. How would you like it if u were getting married and someone wore a white dress to your wedding? Put urself in her shoes, imagine how much it could upset her.

I wouldnt do it. On that day white is for the bride only. Wear the red belt with something else but definitely not a white dress.

I have seen women wear white dresses to weddings and it looked tacky. Almost like they was trying to take away the spot light from the Bride.
Let the bride be the one in white.
Save your white dress for another occasion.

Unless it looks like a bride dress, it might be OK. but at the wedding the bride wants to get all attention so it's better for her to look best, not a guest... You can try baby blue..

I wouldn't. The bride should be the only one in a white dress. She is supposed to be the center of attention.

I personally wouldn't do it. The bride should be the only one in white. You also shouldn't wear black. No one would say anything to your face about it, but I feel it is in bad taste, and it will probably hurt the bride's feelings.
