Evolution is a scientific theory (NOT to be confused with philosophical theory). It has NOT been proven yet, though it has some evidence to substantiate it. There is also evidence against it. If you'd like to know more, visit http://www.answersingenesis.com

Animals have evolved, humans have de-evolved.

Studies, like that done by the University of Michigan, and featured in the Discovery Channel program, The Amazing Life of the Human Brain, shows just how amazing the human brain is.

Every second while awake, we are absorbing 40MBs of data per second. That’s 144 gigabytes per hour and about 2 terabytes per day. That’s a lot of data even for the largest computer. When we sleep at night, and only at night or under nighttime conditions, all that data is sorted and stored through the creation of synaptic connectors and biochemical bounds. The brain has enough volume to allow for the creation of these storage connectors to last over 10,000 years.

I should also note that a recent study has found that it doesn’t happen while dreaming, but just before it. Your consciousness completely shuts down in the same manner a program pauses while saving a file.

Without the need of a creator, what evolutionary pressure could bring about the need for this much volume that would take that long to fill? Clearly, man was either created by God to live that long, or if evolve, once lived that long, and has since de-evolved to what we are today. Which do you think it is?

Evolution does take place, in that animals have evolved and humans have de-evolved since the time of the creation. Many divergent species are related, such as the Meerkat/Hyena and the Lion/House cat. A house cat can breed with a lion, I wonder if the same is possible the Hyena and Meerkat?

Evolution is a Fact. Natural Selection is the best theory used to describe that fact.

Actually Evolution of a species is a proven fact. It has been observed. 'Natural Selection' is the main theory used to describe that fact. It has been an established fact for some time now. Its just that information to the general public of such a thing is quite slow due to the religous leaders who fear what this information will encourage. So both parties are kind of soft on the issue. Except for Richard Dawkins and a few others.
There was a time when explaining that Solar Eclipses were an orderly event, was met with the same dramas that evolution faces today. There was much discussion on how to educate the 'common man' without interfering with the religous views. Well, it cant be done so easily. So its done gradually.
Evolution of the species is an established fact. The transistional fossils exist. Not just 'Lucy' either, and not just for humans. It has been observed in our life time. 'Natural Slection' is the theory.

Of course this debate will go on for centuries, because there will always be people without the knowledge, who will always question (which is a good thing), and there will be always religous people who will seek to point out all the holes which there will no doubt always be, inorder to win other those who question, by attempting to shine a shadow of doubt onto the whole subject.

A theory which is supported by many observable facts. Facts which have been tested and re-tested by numerous credible scientists. A scientific theory, to be called a theory, has to have the property of being unable to be proved OR disproved. Once a theory is proven, it becomes a "law".

In my book it certainly is not a fact, and truthfully it is very poor theorising. Yet nobody can answer that for you, if you want to know the truth you must study it yourself and the arguments against it and draw your own conclusion.

Note:
Notice how the first person garfield leaves evolution out of his fact list. Among his fact list are adaptation, mutation and natural selection. These do not add up to evolution as is falsely proclaimed. All three of those things have existed and been observed by men as a natural part of life for ages(wether micro or macro) , who does not admit of adaptation, or natural selection in the sense of fate or the way things work out, or law of the jungle. As for mutation notice that he does not say evolution, because mutation is not evolution. Mutation is mutation. do not let other people mislead you. Although I use garfield as an example, I must say he tries to be fair and honest more than most, and that is a welcome surprise.

It is a fact . but a fact based on the premise that something has been created first. Without creation there would be no evolution of anything.

It is fact, you can see that in the remains of fish, animals, mammals, any living creature you look at has a starting point which adapts to suit its environment.
The crocodile is one of the oldest reptiles of the world, and if you look in a museum, you can see some remains of ancient crocodiles as old as 300 million years (birds now being the oldest species from the dinosaur era)
