Well why did they take it from you? Were your grades suffering? If so bring them up or work out a deal of an hour a night. You may have to do extras around the house like dishes or general clean up. Show your parents you deserve privliages and they will open up.

I'm sure this is very hard on you. Your parents have been together for as long as you've lived, and while you aren't very old, that is a long time to spend with someone! I'm very sorry that your father has decided to have an affair with another woman before breaking up with your mother. It sounds as though this is having a huge impact on her. Understandably they probably won't discuss intimacy details in great detail with you, but do you have any clue as to why they may not be intimate anymore? It sounds as though over time they have got used to each other and given up the romance in a sort of sense. Ask them to seek counseling, and ask that they give it a shot. Sometimes the romance may need to be reawakened. Though sometimes it is too late and the damage is already done, although I hope for your sake that is not true. Get your mum out of the house. Go for a walk in the park, go to a cafe, do some sightseeing of the countryside. Hold her hand, cuddle her, and tell her you love her and will support her. Good luck :) feel free to mail me if you need to talk. I have been through a similar (a bit messier) situation so I can understand how you feel. =)

Being a parent who has done this also, I can tell you why I did it. My ten year old daughter's grades have been suffering. My husband and I realized that she was obsessed with watching TV all of the time. We sat her down and discussed with her why we were taking away the TV. We want her to do well in school and go to college. To help, we do not turn on any TVs until she is in bed. This has made our family closer. We play games, read, the girls play together. I think that kids and adults spend too much time watching TV. My daughter's grades are improving but I think we are going to keep the moratorium on television for a bit longer. Kids are only young once!

Sorry, kids should have no rights, they should obey & learn respect.
You most probably watched too much TV, why don't you help around the house keep your bedroom tidy & earn some rights.
Your home will then be a much better place for you all.
You know I am right.

Consider yourself lucky.
Our kids were spending so much time in front of the babble box that we cancelled the cable, threw out the antenna, and only allow them to watch DVDs once or twice a week. We also ditched their Gamecube.
Now they have to do such strange things as.. "read", "play chess", "create works of art", "spend time outside", and so on.
They're a LOT happier. And healthier.

They love you and they might be feeling that you never talk to them or have any thing serious done because they may think you have an addiction to TV. Accept what they are demanding with time they will allow you to watch.
