The biggest superstition I've read in here is that God doesn't exist.

god and or gods are founded in superstition it started as the god of fire or the sun god and evolved from there. And as far as the deadly sins go they all stem fro ignorance and each has always had a positive as well as negative side this is nothing new even before the bible was originated take wrath for instance it is considered bad on first blush but then your very god is wrathful when justified so it is with all and not just opposites . Pride is good as it is bad it all depends on the parameters or context.within anyof these ideas balance and justification through life vs death is the judgment mankind is still searching for.the virtue of selfishness for instance can be the saving grace under the right circumstances . think about it a little more ...forgivness is good until you forgive evil and it takes over and prevails .
discernment through sufficiant knowledge is the jusdgment of honor that separates the positive from the negative in ethical standards and is little understood still as we use the justice system for vengance instead of justice . justice is mine sayeth the lord only means vengance is for no-one at all .god is the superstition that kills the intellect. trust in your native mind withe the courage and determination of free thinking knowledge is extracted from experience and this enlightenment is the destruction of "ignorance the mother of all evil".

Some superstitions have logical basis.

The crossing cat:
Everything in the universe vibrates with energy. These can be classified as positive and negative energy. Positive would be the form of energy which induces positive thinking, positive emotions, good health etc. and negative energy would be the opposite.
The cat is an animal which only has negative energy around it ( aura ). When it walks some of the aura is left behind and a person who crosses paths with the cat takes on some of this negative aura left behind by the cat.
The negative aura can create minor problems which is why a cat crossing is viewed as bad luck.
