if Islam was the religion that most people believed in? I am not trying to degrade Muslims in this question, I am honestly interested in what you believe it would be like. Like I said, it is a broad question. There are many possibilities. I have met Muslims whom interpret the Koran completely different than other Muslims. How do you think the the US would be as so far as individual rights, our views on other countries, etc. I do not understand Islam enough to make a informative evaluation. I have read and viewed a lot of content regarding Islam, but I believe, or perhaps at least hope that the US would still remain a democracy that values other people's views.

Too much violence or should I say more violence.
Christians interpret the holy bible differently too.

Although I hope you would be right, I fear this would not be the case. With a few possibilities though. First, we would have to start out with the same constitution. I think I am not the only one watching the situation in the Middle East with interest to see if democracy is possible in Islam nations. Also, instead of civil war over slavery, we probably would've had civil war over arguments like the Sunni and Shiites have. We might have even had a war over womens liberation. This is just my guess, sorry I can't help more since I am not Muslim.

Well, for starters: Social conservatives would be doing much better. Alcohol, pornography, and gambling would almost certainly be universally illegal. We would have far more puritanical laws on public decency.
Science would decline, because like Evangelicals, Muslims do not believe in certain aspects of science, like evolution.
Women probably couldn't vote.
Shall I go on?
The thing is, it's not that Islam is really different from Christianity. Christians have just become a lot more liberal than Muslims and have learned to ignore their sacred scripture.

The best way to know about the true religion is to study it . Islam has always encouraged learning and education in all fields and women are considered equal to men. Visit these websites to learn more.

I think if US adopted Islam it would definitely rid itself of all its evils.

...In my honest opinion as a Muslim, pretty much unchanged. I have studied Christianity and US today is nothing like that, so I guess even if Islam replaced Christianity, if the people continue to be unchanged then things would be unchanged.
P/s: TheDude, Muslims support evolution. Would you like me to get the verse from Qu'ran?

Our rights are INHERENT; we are born with them and are not "assigned via government"; all rights we've are no longer "listed" on the form so once you're observing it from this perspective, this is definitely "non-particular"; our guy or woman rights are innumerable and as quickly as we've self assurance they're given so can they be taken away. What our shape became meant for became to rfile the barriers our government has on our rights and redresses for his or her violations (for this reason the 2nd modification)!

Then America would be like Muslim nations...i.e. openly questioning Islam would be forbidden and other religions would be oppressed if not banned altogether.
I've heard several horror stories from ex-Muslims who later converted to Christianity. I met one really nice young man who converted to Christianity who can't return to his home in Bangladesh or his father will have him killed.
No, thanks.

Here's a scary little secret, people are... the same. Everywhere, everywhen. Tall, short, male, female, it's all human nature. You can call the National religion Bubble Yum and it could be all Dao and Zen, but the bottomm line is people are always gonna be people.

Islam does not teach their followers to hold up guns and kill the innocent ones. i suggest you to read the Koran or al-Quran to understand whats islam is all about...is doesnt take you numerous websites address, which are falsely-informed most of them. it just took you one copy of al-Quran

The same, one important institution is separation of church and state. I think that this would still hold true so nothing would really change.
