good question. i think it's human nature to paint him and want to see him as a human. i really don't like the blue eyed Jesus pictures. sometimes people have an agenda we they paint him.

Can you direct me to a passage that describes what Jesus Christ may have looked like?

Note: What he is trying to say is that many of the paintings of Jesus look the same time and time again, and has been accepted as the offical image of Jesus.

But who can even believe Revelations? Even a written descriptin could not depict a true likeness. No one knows what he looked like, so each painting/impression is merely artistic. Truly ... who *IS* qualified to paint someone they've never seen???

i disagree with painting his image period......buttttt

Even though you have some descriptions of him, you can't actually know what he looks like. Historically, they wanted him white. He was painted white. I think in the end the picture is a symbol and regardless of what is painted....it will always just be a symbol of jesus.

All Holy Prophets of Almighty God are chosen one and has very special qualities and Deserve utmost respect.
It is demand of respect not to even attempt to miss portrait any Prophet of Almighty.
Jesus(pbuh), a Mighty Prophet of Almighty, highly respectable personality on earth. We should avoid any attempt to destroy his bountiful personality and corrector by visualizing by our limited ability and thinking . Every one of us trying to portrait Him in deferent manner and Possibly unconsciously humiliating His Beautiful and respectful personality .

Okay...was Picasso not qualified to paint women because he did not paint them realistically...painting/art is all about expressing (mostly I'd say) /it does not need to be realistic
