I have to take eight medicines a day. Two for calcium, one potassium, anxiety and sleep medication including other medication.
I am so sick of these medications on a daily basis… I want to stop taking them. What should I do… stop taking them?

Slowly over time and only one at a time. Never go off of meds abruptly.

Talk to your doctor before you stop taking these medications. NEVER, ever go off of anything "cold turkey," especailly those anxiety and sleeping meds you're on. And potassium and calcium are important minerals, so don't stop taking them until your doctor has OK'd you to, especially if they've been prescribed. If you just quit taking some of those meds, your body could go into withdrawl. If your doctor agrees to let you stop taking some of the meds, s/he will probably work with you to slowly ween off of them. That's the best way to do it.

the meds that you mentioned can be stopped without fatal consequences... especially calcium, anxiety and sleeping meds... the potassium, if you're blood levels are out of range (low) they should be continued for that can cause all sorts of maladies... or you could change to a monkey diet for potassium by consuming banana's daily... for calcium deficiencies load up on soy milk and all natural yogurt-add your own fruit... for anxiety - not thinking about doing your meds will work wonders, at least half... for sleeping start reading in bed or have unbridled sex, that should work very well for you... especially if married for awhile...
you failed to mention the other meds? if they are for the heart or seizures do not discontinue... if you have a need to release pent up frustration or an uncontrolled temper I suggest taking up tai chi~~~

If they were prescribed for you the doctor must have had a reason, ask him/her. Also, when you stop taking a medicine go off slowly, not cold turkey--adverse things can happen if you go off the medicine cold turkey.

You sound like a hypochondriac to me.Go to bed early and get a routine.Eat and drink more foods with calcium and potassium.
Sounds like you want everyone to feel sorry for you.
