Beer IN SHAMPOO is suggested for boosting the hair's body (it has some good proteins in it, if memory serves).
To bring out blond highlights (the possibility depends on your base hair color) 'naturally,' use lemon juice. You can put some in your hair and then sit in the sun while it dries (then go in to shampoo, as usual). Lemon juice, though, acts like peroxide ('real hair bleach'), so it strips color off and can dry the hair. If your hair's dark and you have the genetic tendency to 'pull red,' you may get 'orange-y' streaks rather than pure blond ones.
IF you are a dark blonde naturally, you may get the results you want (with less tendency for the brassiness I just described) by steeping some chamomile tea and putting that in your hair (again, leave it fr a while, then rinse it). Chamomile tea is pretty mild and can even be used as a 'rinse' - so you could put it in after it's chilled, you've shampooed, and you just 'rinse' it through hair (not leaving it in long).
IF you feel your hair simply has a 'dirty' cast you want to 'lighten,' consider putting some vinegar into it efore you shampoo. It doesn't smell pleasant, but it has several benefits and should clear up any scalp chemical build-up and any chemicals from hard water on your hair.
Best wishes!

The sugar in the beer will make your hair sticky, especially if you're caught in the rain or get it wet between washings. It will probably dry it out quite a bit, too because of the alcohol content. Not a good idea to spray beer on your hair for any reason.

The sacrastic side of me really wants to tell you that putting a nice blonde beer on your hair will definitely make you blonde. However, the alocholic in me can't let you waste that beer. Give me the beer and you can have my lemons. You can either use lemons or look for that brown bottle of hydrogen peroxide thats probably in your medicine cabinet.

I've never heard of using beer. I know lemon juice works to get blond highlights in light hair. If your hair is dark there's no safe way to go blonde on your own. You're more likely to go orange.

Beer will definitely not make your hair blonde. It will probably just make you smell! I don't think you will achieve much unless you do colour. Sorry.

That is not a question of exactly what other people "like" or not. You have to take many things into consideration, before jumping from one finish of the spectrum to the other. It helps to understand your colouring pens. Are you neutral, warm or awesome? The undertones in your skin may compliment your hair
