What do you think will happen to you when you die? Do you feel there is a place for you, somewhere, beyond the land of the living? Or do you think you'll end up in complete darkness, with nothing happening afterwards?

I believe there are only 2 places, and we decide where we want to go. If you don't believe in God, then I believe you have chosen to go to hell instead of Heaven. Thanks for asking for my opinion. I don't mean to offend, just aswering your question.

I have no idea.
I have no reason to think anything happens other than the constituent parts of my body are recycled back into nature. As to the "me"...the part that is thinking about how to answer this question, I think it just stops. I didn't exist before I was born, and I won't exist after I die.

I'm sorry if that seems harsh and cold, and I understand why people desperately hope there is more to existence than our life on earth. I understand how religion offers people comfort, I just think it is a self deluded comfort.

But there simply is no reason to believe there is anything more than this life.

If you do not believe in God, you are an atheist, without God.

Religion is a way of life, and atheism is definitely a religion.

Even if you had a near death experience, you will not know death. The Christian belief is that God raised Jesus from the dead, so he would be in a good position to describe life after death. Unfortunately, Jesus did not tell us.

You details pretends to know something about the land of the death, when in fact, none of us do.

If you are an atheist you have a religion. However, life after death is not revealed in the Christian bible

I believe there is a place for me of non life of no existence where it is neither dark or light there is absolutely nothing. Before I was born I was not in a dark place or a light place. I was nonexistent as I will be again when I die. It will not be an experience as many believe.

I believe I exist. My life will end, but I will always have existed. My existince will affect the world around me. What I do is what matters, because that is what will go on beond my death. When I die, I believe that my concisness will cease to be. Was there darkness before you were born? Were you in heaven before you were born?

Okay, listen carefully.. When I die my body will start to decompose. Once my brain has decomposed to the point that I can no longer think. I will cease to exist.

How can anyone possibly think that we can honestly exist with no brain.. Please anyone who believes otherwise entertain me with an answer. This is so ridiculous I find myself actually a little upset at the matter. Our brain is a material device that has been proved many times over to be responsible for our self awareness, and our memories.

After we die we cease to exist as far as our ability to think with our brain. Of course our brain is responsible to think so ultimately it would seem that after biological death we do not think.

I believe in a circle of life. If I am buried in the ground, I will be an energy source for another being, which may make me a flower, a tree, etc. I will be beautiful as I was while I was living.

if there is a God, whether you believe in Him or not does not change the fact that He exists. from the perspective of someone who does believe in God, if you dont believe and you aren't religious, it doesn't mean that God doesn't know you.
basically everyone ends up in either heaven or hell, no alternatives. the only way to heaven is through believing in Jesus, if you dont believe, no matter what the reason, then you will unfortunately not be joining the party in heaven

the universe is infinite. there's so much wisdom in that phrase, and yet it would take exactly the amount of time, converted from the space you identify as yourself, to completely comprehend. No matter how small you think yourself in the grander scheme, it only serves to shorten the arrival of your most grand epiphany, as it lessens the amount you can draw from your experience. In many ways, this is when and how we create most abundantly and readily.

you are describing the beliefs of an atheist. they almost exclusively believe that dying is like sleeping (without dreaming of course), you just stop thinking and then you're done. there would be no darkness, or afterwards, or anything else. "i don't think, therefore i aren't" or something.

I think it will be just like before I was born, but I can't possibly have any concept of that. I don't think that any of us can really take hold on the idea of non-existence and really understand it. But I do think that this life is the only one that we will ever have, and that we don't have a *soul* in traditional terms that will continue to exist after our bodies wear out.
