when people use the term "Homosexual agenda?" I really don't think all homosexuals band together to push a queer agenda. It's not like we ever hear about the "Heterosexual agenda," although I'm sure if we did, it'd be a lot more frightening.

I'm also interested in a Christian viewpoint- how do you think God feels about homosexuals, as opposed to everyone else? Why, in modern culture, is it a sin that is attacked so vociferously, as opposed to other things, like, I don't know, identity theft.

Does God want us to castigate homosexuals, or love them like our neighbor?

I'm interested to hear all opinions.

Just a little note about where I'm coming from asking this question. I grew up in a church that preached the whole "homosexuality is wrong, love the sinner, hate the sin" approach. I was also told that gay marriage was wrong, and shouldn't be legalized.

Well, I did a lot of soul searching of my own, and got a better sense of where I stood with God, and who exactly God is to me. I understand that in Christianity, homosexuality is a sin. But I doubted that my God of loving compassion would want me to treat any of His children poorly, or any less than neighborly. This would include denying them the rights like those that come from a legal marriage.

Basically, I think sexual orientation is between a person and God, and I should stay the heck out of it.

Anyone agree? Disagree?

I've heard Christians who claim to worship a tolerant, loving, forgiving God, explain why God hates homosexuals a zillion times. It was idiotic the first time I read their explanation. It's idiotic every time I read it. I don't need to see them rationalizing their hatred behind a translation of the Bible.

I think it is fair to say that there is a homosexual, or gay, civil rights movement. I consider myself a supporter of it.

Cool, it first starts with an open mind. So I'll treat you with the same respect.

Yes, I am a Christian, which means that I live my life to love and obey God/Jesus Christ/the Word.

God see's all sin the same. All sin is going against the way he made us. So you are right, God doesn't see homosexuality any different then lying, murder, theft, etc...

I think people attack homesexuals more because it's easy, and some how we got off track, I'm very disgusted in the way we have treated homosexuals. We could do the same thing at buffets, "God Hates Gluttons!" It's not loving on the peoples part, and not something Jesus would have done.

God wants us to all turn from sin. So yes, God loves you, but he Hates your sin. God is Holy and will not tolerate sin. So if you do not accept His son as a payment for what you, and me, and all us have done, like sinned and turned from him. He has no other choice but to punish the sin, we are stained dirty. The only thing that will clean us is His Son, thats why he came to earth and we killed him, to take are punishment that all of us deserve. He just have to believe that he rose from the dead and make him your lord, that's it.

there is also a misconception that it's ok to be homosexual cause we were born that way. well i would say, yes that we are all born with a tendency to sin, but no that doesn't make it right, plus God can change you, and your desires. my uncle was born with a thrist for alcohol abuse, does that mean it's ok for him to keep drinking, no.

feel free to ask me any questions. i won't get offended. i use to by agnostic but had some situations happen, and gave my life to him.

Hello there
Although to GOD all sins are equal, have you noticed in the realm of the living that sins all carry various outcomes in this world? Homosexuals are human beings, and I personally love them as people. We have different beliefs, and it is certain that the christian thinks contrary to the average homosexual. I even hate the catergorizing of those who have different sexual perferences. Please understand, that the lifestyle chosen cannot be FULLY embrace in our society, being that there are weak willed people who can be inclined to become something that they truly not. Im sorry but its better to be gay and be non vocal about it than to go about forcing people to accept you as an equal. That is like saying we should attend gay clubs just because we love you? I recently found out that a woman was gay that I had known for many years, it was suspected but why would I focus on that?. Shes very sweet and doesnt go about spreading her business. She dont need to come out the closet, she is cool just the way she is. there will always be conflict between straight and the latter. I will refuse to talk about anything that is contrary to what I believe is Gods will. I concluded that people who decide to have sexual relations outside the "norm", are living under the same grace as a murderer or even a Saint.

God said it is wrong to be gay, very clearly states it. God did say to love your neighbor. God wants you to confront when a person is doing wrong and to help them try to fix it. God also says that when you confront the sinner if the sinner refuses to change and stop doing the sin that you should turn your back on him/her. God does not say that you can't welcome the person back with open arms if they ever do change it, but until they do you should turn your back on them. This is because if you except it and go along with it to keep from hurting feelings or whatever, you start to think it's ok but its not, that is why you should turn your back. Giving gay people the same rights would be telling them that it is ok to live wrong.

I think that if homosexuals are given the same rights as heterosexuals that it would be opening the door for other groups with strange sexual preferences. No one can deny truthfuly that heterosexuality is the normal. If homosexuality was meant to be a normal thing it wouldn't have been looked down on since the beginning of man and I think we would have been built to be able to reproduce with same sex partners to ensure a growth in population.

I don't choose to campaign for the chosen sin of others. We are to love thy neighbor but not sin...for those who are believers anyways.

When people sin they absolutely have agendas:

First to get away with it and in the case of many who practice homosexuality just like every other sin... to flaunt it and "attack" individuals who don't care to listen to the bragging.
Second to minimize it and try and force people to validate it just like every other sin in this world today.

"Heterosexual agenda" ~ you won't it's natural. How did we get here? As far as I know we were born.

"Why, in modern culture, is it a sin that is attacked so vociferously, as opposed to other things, like, I don't know, identity theft."

Because people turn a blind eye to that act until they personally are affected by identity theft which is also bragged about within a person's environment. People outside their environment would not enjoy listening to this..why? Ironically, there are those who make up excuses for those who steal- again until they are stolen from. People reached their boiling point & voted laws into place making it illegal so really how much has that truly been ignored? Doesn't mean people will not choose to steal it means they will go to jail for the crime. Before laws were in place it was most likely frosted up and ignored.

The question needs to be not whether gays deserve rights, but whether all non-heterosexual orientations deserve the same equal rights. At last count, there were five or six sexual orientations, though Congress in 2000 ordered the American Psychological Assoc. to withdraw their decision as regards pedosexuals. So I guess a sexual orientation can be nullified by a vote of Congress.

We are a culture that is evolving as regards sexuality. Recently, I came across an article about how consenting adults involved in physical relationships with close relatives, see the movement toward normalizing ones sexual orientation as a step toward possibly abolishing the incest laws. With advancing reproductive science, and DNA mapping, the fear getting pregnant, and/or having a severely handicapped children is decreasing. Though there should be a fear of them learning how to identify the gene that leads to non-heterosexual behaviors, as than they may learn how to fix it.

Well the gay rights issue is pretty insignificant.

There is an agenda, there is a gay subculture and gaydom is an ECONOMY.
Gay noobs dont get it but the older ones certainly do.Know what scares gays more than anything else?Slim pickins.
Gay noise is like advertising.
Gays also know by heart how to joo the female vote.
Simple as that.

Call the shepherd a bigot.

As for what God thinks?
God HATES queerdom,i guess Gods a bigot now so.
God can see queerdom for what it is,think God will accept gays explaination?good luck.

And again, for about the hundreth time, most peoples dislike for gays has nothing to do religion,People dont like gays because they are QUEER.

Think i'm harsh?thats the majority.

Gays understand the love of the common man?no chance, these hysterics get nothing.

I think there are certain vocal groups of lobbyists who are for gay marriage, just like there are also groups of lobbyists who are against abortion. Some Christians find the whole idea of gay marriage frightening, or even offensive. I think they pick on homosexuality more, because of things like gay pride parades. If you believe homosexuality is a sin, then parades advocating that sin would be a concern. After all, we do not have "burglar pride" parades, nor "identity pirate" parades, nor "filth-mouth" parades nor "porn-watcher" parades nor "atheist pride" parades. If we did, I think those sins would definitely get more attention.

As with any sin, my opinion is, love the sinner, hate the sin. If someone deliberately chooses to do wrong, it is sad, but generally their choice unless it is illegal.

I dont think God would appreaciate it if we attacked Homosexuals so to speak. You shouldn't distreat homosexuals, If they say hello say hello back, if you want nothing to do with them then just try to avoid them but dont be rude and turn the another cheek when they are friendly or need help. Im not sure how God feels towards the Homosexuals, but I do know that it not Gods way of being that way. It is a sin for two men, and two women to marry, but I dont think God himself would turn away from one of his own children when in need. Alot of the times Homosesuals are not born into one they usualy adapt, or become one due to their surroundings or trauma they have experienced in their childhood. It is always important to treat them as you would any other Heterosexual.

In the final analysis everyone must judge for themself . regardless of why they think what they believe they each make up their own mind .if your think god says so that's your decision not god's or anyone elses so you can't hide your mind or what you deem justified even if you think you are you are not .hiding behind a religion if you think it
s true or not is just fooling yourself because the personal responsibility is really still all yours alone . Agenda or not Everyone has their plans and decisions regardless of whether they admit it or not . I say live and let live just don't cross the line and there will be no trouble. I treat them as human beings !
