Blood in stools of a young puppy can mean several things:
1. Parvo virus enteritis: in this case puppy has watery diarrhoea, and is generally ill, may start vomiting soon and should be taken to the vet immediately as it can get dehydrated very quickly
2. Intestinal parasites:<(b> common cause in young dogs, sometimes accompanied by rubbing bottom on the floor.
3. Food hypersensitivity, colitis, allergy puppy is usually well in itself and stools will often be slimy. In this case it is best to put puppy on bland food, e.g. chicken and rice, feeding it little and often. If stools go back to normal, it should be gradually switched to other brand of food, allowing at least 1 week for the transition
4. Foreign body in the intestinal tract (sharp bone fragments): sometimes can be felt in the rectum, puppy will be straining when trying to defecate.
Small amount of red fresh blood in faeces usually indicates large bowel problem and is less serious as blood coming from higher up - small intestine and stomach - which is usually darker or sometimes even black.

Blood in stool regardless of age is either
1)Internal bleeding
2)High Blood Pressure
3)Infection
Check what your feeding your puppy and make sure it doesn't eat anything it shouldn't

Could be anything from constipation or a severe case of worms to a bowel problem-your vet will find out which.

If there's a jelly-like substance there as well, could be colitis which is treatable. If he's otherwise bright, I wouldn't worry. Do take him to the vet though.

check for Parvo & Corona. All dogs should be vaxinated for these 2. It's a horrid death. I've only saved 3 that had it. but it could just be worms or something easy to get rid of.

Is his poo hard? Take some tissue paper and test the poop, if it is hard, it might be that the pup has torn something or he might jaust be straining too hard.
EITHER WAY TAKE THE PUP TO THE VET

It might be a virus called Parvo. Not so sure though.. You should definately take your pup to the vet asap.

if he has any pain or lethargy or vomiting, don't wait, ring them now.
Has he been eating bones? or anything that might have damaged his guts?
Has he had all his vaccinations, or if too young, has he been around other dogs or where they might have been? If he gets sick, vet asap.
