Typically the father of the bride will raise it enough to kiss you on the cheek when he gives you away, then it's lowered back down for the ceremony. Then the groom will raise it when he goes to kiss you after your pronounced husband and wife. However, your father can raise it and keep it raised, which is becoming more of the trend. It's also a good idea b/c if you are having pictures taken during the ceremony or a video the veil will cause your face to be blurred. But you can always go back and "re-act" parts of the ceremony for pictures if you would like to keep your veil down. Congrats!!

It's really up to you. You can have your father lift your veil when he kisses you and gives you away, or you can have him lift it enough to kiss you and then put it back down so your fiance can lift it when you do the nuptial kiss.

It's your choice. If you're having picutres taken while the ceremony is going on you may not want your veil covering your face as it will make your face look fuzzy or blank.

awww...well it depends on when you're going to have your veil lifted... right after you get to where your fiance is or right before you kiss for the first time as a married couple but I think you should have your father! it's so sweet and it's when he's giving you away... your fiance will have many chances to lift your veil (not literally or in a dirty sense) but your father will only give you away once, it should be something very meaningful to both of you...CONGRATS on your engagement :o)

It's up to you! But I'll go with your father to lift your veil and kiss you and then give you away to husband. in my wedding, i didn't put it back because i want to the video/photo coverage of my wedding to have a clear look of my face. i spent a lot of time making myself up and then, i'll just hide my face through the whole ceremony? Not fair...it's not traditional though but it's my wedding then, so i rule!

congrats to u and best regards.

I would say your dad lifts it gives you one last kiss then puts it down again so that your fiance lifts it after the ceremony.

Your father. He will then kiss you on the cheek and then your groom will take you from there. The kiss is his giving you up with his blessing. It's a very emotional moment in the ceremony.

Your father so that he can kiss you right after he does and right before he gives you away. It's like a symbolism of his last fatherly duty. My opinion.

the veil is a symbol for your hymen. so naturally you'd want your fiance lifting the veil.
